Wondered why I got a mention in here when my training currently consists of sitting on arse due to hamstring woes.

Impressive solo 5k @Sowler :clap: would definitely break something if I tried to run that fast :man_facepalming:.

Apple Watch is garbage.
The pub across the road looks a far nicer place to wait for my wife than a urine infested pool.

Wife says; GET IN THE POOL :see_no_evil::rofl:

15 x 100m ranging from 1:30-1:45/100m at various efforts and toy levels.

Decent session :+1:t3:
Time for a swift pint at that pub now :beer:

Rest day for me.
Bloody gas engineers 8am-Midday slot.
Arrived at 1150, then took two hours.

Going to the in-laws now for a monster Chinese take away :takeout_box::chopsticks::fortune_cookie:

Rowing, 2x2k, 1x0.5k
Then flutes activation and strengthening.

10km on the rower followed by 10mins on the skierg both at a moderate Pace/HR.

Struggling to maintain focus on longer UT2 rowing workouts resulting in inconsistent splits and stroke rate.

Took out some work related frustration on a lunch time 5k. Hit a new PB of 22:50 which I’m chuffed with as it was a pretty stiff wind today, but seem to have decimated my shins in the process. Must have been slamming my heels even harder than usual or disintegrating into ā€˜Phoebe from Friends’ style running form. Now very sore and grumpy. Few days with my feet up eating advent calendar chocolate I think, or might just add in an extra session in the pool over the weekend.

I really, really, really, really don’t want to run. Again.

Up for what felt like the whole night with kids. So tired and hugely low on motivation.

But a group session tonight that I’m forcing myself out for.

Yoga and then tea and crisps in the warm is kuxh more appealing. But sometimes you just gotta kick your own ass out (if you can)

50min ride to the pool on a heavy old commuter bike……

short swim and then a ride home that turned into a bigger effort than planned…. rear thumb shifter exploded shortly into ride, leaving me with an over geared ride the whole way home… wish i’d had a power meter on!

Oh and boy am I glad I got out. As soon as my feet hit the ground with one of my best mates at my side, on a hill I know waaay too intimately. It’s like muscle memory just took over and I was back in my happy place.

I think I was just feeling low from weather, work, kids being ill etc. That was the tonic I needed. Luckily I have a mate who always manages to press the right buttons to get me back on it.

Turned out that I was much stronger than expected as well, and the weather wasn’t too bad. Stripped all my layers off after 1 rep, so was just in shorts and long sleeved base layer.

7 x reps of a favourite local hill for a vk. Building through out the reps as well. :+1:t3:

15 x 100m off 1:45 1:32/100m ave :sob::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::man_shrugging:t4:

First one in 1:24, felt easy. Game on tampon.
Second in 1:26, still easy.
Third in 1:33. Bolloxed.
Fourth I lost count and did a 150m at 1:33 pace.
Did a 50 to get back on track in 40s.

Then between 1:30 and 1:36 for the next ten :rofl:

Pacing and fitness is garbage.

I want my 400 back at 5:30 by April, too :triumph:

Two people in the fast Lane swimming up and down.
Not clockwise.
I get in, it’s all okay for about 25m, until…

Fast, breaststroke guy swims into ā€œWhat the F stroke is that?ā€ Guy and points at the medium lane. WTFSIT Guy doesn’t move lanes.

I start swimming. And manage a few 100s until Breaststroke guy catches me up and passes me :exploding_head:
I lose count as I’m amazed how far he puts into me and his turn off the wall and he’s caught me in the opposite direction before I’m even flipping :scream:

This AMs pre-sunrise amble was quite cool, about -12 at the top with the wind chill, lovely and fresh.
First outing for the balaclava during these last few months of the year, bits of ice and frost on the ground, but nowt an old hand can’t handle :rofl:
