Another 3 day week for me, so not so good. But half term and job stuff has made the last 3 weeks a tad tricky. Hoping to get into a bit more of a routine again now.
I’ve decided not to race the Norm (lap every hour race) in a few weeks time. I’ve barely run, again, this year and I’m just not in the right frame of mind (or body) for it.
I’m in an ‘ok’ space fitness wise, but a long way to go to be properly firing again.
Dude - I’m with you on this one.
I’m changing roles in three weeks, on the same day our seven week kitchen build starts
Kitchen finishes, then I’ve a week before Mallorca.
I’m not going to be very fit at all!
As when the tradesmen aren’t here (we’ve built in contingency days) we’ll be painting or (finally) sorting out the garden (tonnes of border soil and sleepers to install)
Staffs 70.3 is gonna be a major chore.
That’s my main race this year.
Although, I’m hopeful my ankle can heal (it’s currently painful again) and I can do an autumn half marathon or 10km in a reasonable (for me!) time.
Yeah fingers crossed bud. Hard when life gets in the way eh?!
I’m keeping my eye on July as my prize. So plenty of time for a decent build up. The big risk is obviously having all eggs in one basket for the whole year.
Need to find some intermediate goals/races/adventures or whatever.
Woke up after a shocking nights sleep.
Just pulling my legs up to change position was hurting…
Got in the pool and thought I’d see how it went.
Somehow (Palpatine has returned) I managed to smash out 10 x 200m off 3:30 getting slightly quicker from 3:00-2:57 and then 6 x 100m off 1:45
Finished with 1km pull and paddles
Another 6.5hrs for me…. its starting to feel a bit metronomic, but the consistency is really starting to pay back now, with everything feeling more comfortable.
Starting to move mix to more easy and long stuff, and will extend long rides and runs steadily, and just leave a few hard sessions here and there to keep my systems firing well… 6 months to IM…
