Training - What Training?!

Do three 34km loops.
Should take 3hrs25mins with your roads and surfaces.
Can drop out then if worse/worse.
Also never more than 17km / 10 miles from home :+1:t3:
Which makes a taxi cheaper.

Re: me sandbagging.
Damn right.
That’s why I’ve not ran properly at parkrun for six months, dropped out of the local half (wouldn’t have ran under 1:25, let alone 1:20) and DNS’d Southport (2nd overall last year meant a free entry, but I wasn’t gonna podium, so didn’t go!)

If I can’t do what I want to do, why bother?

At least if Staffs goes tits up, @apm will be there to collect my entry fee back in Maurten gels :moneybag:

@FatPom - nah. Going to collect the rental car at 8am :see_no_evil::man_shrugging:t4: Should have a nice estate agents A3 loadsaletters by the end of the week :joy::see_no_evil:

That’s the plan for tmw  it’s gonna be really sunny and I have physio at lunchtime, so can pop out for an hour or two in the morning

I think I might just get some loops in, even if that’s a tad dull as it’s nice to draw a big circle on the Strava map innit :joy:

Good to hear. Would you prefer us to call you Tyrone or Darren?

Back in the pool/bath this morning.
Had some company. so kept it to 200s as to not keep bunching up

Watch was working today which was a bonus

10 x 200s off 3:30 (ish)
2:57 / 2:58 / 2:57 / 2:56 / 2:57 / 2:57 / 2:57 / 2:58 / 2:59 / 2:59

5 x 100s off 1:45
All 1:29

1300m pull and paddles about 1:31 pace

As for the OWS debacle, today I had the bouyancy shorts on, so body position should be about the same. Start/stopping the watch at the wall. Flip turns, but I don’t ever kick off the wall, so no massive advantage there

7km 4:16/km run back from the rental place.
Boiling!!!

That’s gonna be hard to do three times on race day.

Possible, but it’ll take some effort :joy::see_no_evil:

so, I’m back! Thank you @FatPom for coming to get me out of my black hole of self pity !!

No running for me at the moment, think I have a case of plantar fasciitis since last Tuesday. Never had it before and have never got it from running, so I presume I pulled the tendon whilst climbing. Funny enough I can climb without pain in the arch of my foot, but at other times in the day it’s quite excruciating, even woke me up the other night. Anyway, thought I’d not run this week and see if that helps. However, I have been doing lots in the garden, was digging for a good 4hrs this morning - that’s got to count for something!

Manned up and did an easy 6k run in the rain, relaxing in a weird kind of way.

Club swim at 8pm, I’m vacillating about going because it’s raining and will get soaked on the bike. Which is illogical. Need to man up.

Edit: went, enjoyed :+1:

I was pondering my life choices for at least 5 minutes in the car before I ran

It’s cold, wet although not that windy.

Edit: I think what I’m trying to say is either go, or go for a run

No rain here, it’s a lovely evening actually.

Nice little 5km run and 3km OW swim today. I was the last man out so snapped this on the way to my car

Recovery rides on zwift are soooooo boring.

I find them ok as long as you’re distracted by either listening or watching something

Look for breakdown cover and the 40 minutes flies by :clap:t3::joy:

Not training per se, but just been for a session with the physio. At least I’m consistent in my ailments! :joy: Usual issues.

My shoulders and upper back were basically locked into aero position :man_facepalming:t3: Barely any flexibility when opening up the chest and compressing the back!

Feel much better now. But have the dreaded hip and glute exercises incoming. :face_vomiting:

Feel like I ought to do a long ride tomorrow morning, had a 90km ride in mind, but it’s forecast 12 -14 degrees with a 60% chance of rain. That’s Zwift weather surely? Hmmmm
