Training - What Training?!

Parkrun this morning had to line up too far back 'cos of my normal lateness, so a sprint at the start, felt fine for the first lap until the hill but the two olddies I was with (well 56 year olds) dropped me like everyone else does and I put in a little spurt as it flattened to stay with with them, this seemed to be the end of me feeling good, and shortly afterwards they just dropped me anyway. Ended up finishing a good 20 and 30seconds behind them. And upon looking at watch only 19:06, but it felt much harder, I suspect I have a cold coming on, but still a bit crappy. Garmin was pleased though and added 2 to by VO2max for some reason (I ran 19:00 last time out…)

Then shortly after an easy 60km spin, which was not easy or much fun really as it was 50km into a direct headwind in the rain, but wasn’t too bad.

Sunday AM 13k run with 5k at target HIM pace. Takes me to 9 hours for the week. One more decent week to go and then

Cat got me up at five, the bastard. He’s becoming more and more like Fat Freddys Cat. Anyway, that’s why I missed my morning run.

Nice 80km bike in 2hr 12 minutes followed by a short 5km brick brings me to 16hrs 44 for the week.

Ticking over nicely, not feeling too tired and ready for the next one.

Forecast was looking shite a couple of days ago but was a glorious morning today albeit a bit of wind

Feet up now waiting for a Father’s Day brunch :raised_hands:t2:

My Father’s Day breakfast was a banana & bidon of 60g Malto/25g Fructose with an electrolyte tab :yum:.

I downed it on the turbo, churning out 50mins at my hopeful Cotswold power while watching the last episode of Top Boy. Then off on a run at 5*(3km at guesstimated race effort/500m easy).

My wee buggers haven’t bought me a card, but my lad has given me a hug.

You try riding with Will.

The bastard surges through between 350 and 400 watts - I was getting sick of by this point in the ride. It took me until Wednesday to get over last Sundays ride so ā€˜we’ put a 300 watt cap on the front. The man just does as he pleases though

First run in weeks and weeks - sciatica with a dose of covid on top.

A week from my positive test and a day after a clear test.

HR well above normal but expected that from comments from others here

Sciatica thing hurt like hell for the first 1.5km - almost pulled it after 400m. The longer I went, the less it hurt. By the time I finished the 5km, it didn’t hurt at all.

I have never been so excited having done a 5km run

Feels like a massive step forward

Well done. I’m limping around the flat cursing myself for trying a run yesterday. Sore and swollen :face_with_head_bandage:

1.5k sea swim amongst the jellies. It was freezing! Air temp 12c but felt much colder with wind chill. Roll on summer

You’re completely insane, and I can only imagine how tired you must be.

I feel extra lazy now. All I’ve done all weekend is eat and booze. Busy day with the girls today, a few late nights and I’m tired. CBA to train tonight. So a bit of a crap week. Again.

Ah well.

Haha, I’ve just done a 4K exploring the lanes where we are staying. Easing the legs off after a good few hours in the car. And looking for a route tomorrow.

There might have been a Burger King as well :hippopotamus::joy:

Decent week though, about 4 runs, 3 bikes and 4 swims getting near 7K!
