Training - What Training?!

Managed a brisk 5k walk around the local fields, it was all I felt like today.

How are those shorts lasting so well, did he buy a job lot!

He’s an Algerino (Whitby term for people from Scarborough), so will be hating running through Whitby :joy:

Nice tune up for that!
I missed getting my entry in for that - it’s meant to be a rapid course.
Good luck!

10km plod. I could smell the booze being sweated off

Yes, the brass monkey is a fast course but you need to be as quick with the mouse to get into it.

We’ve been quite lucky in recent years as the weather hasn’t been too bad, a couple of frosty days but a lot have been calm.

Quite often people in our club start offering their number around now due to injuries, illness or Christmas xs!

First dreadmill session of 2020. 1km warm up then 8km@4.45 on 2% average. Regretting those mince pies now.

He’s just legging it to the art sale.

Did my first ever Park Run in Conwy on Saturday, nice views and took it steady running with a friend :slightly_smiling_face:

3x1600m @4:41,4:36,4:32/km walk/jog 400m in between ten minutes wu/wd either side for 53mins running.

Zwift Run let me down 3rd session in a row, might can it soon.

Then over to the squat rack for 5x5 squats, overhead press and 1x5 deadlift. Squats and deadlift relatively light at 50kg/60kg as I’m coming back from an illness break. OH press quite tough at 37.5kg.

Lost 2kg despite drinking.

4 hours of gardening and jet washing the front, side and rear path/patio today.
Back and knees are killing me now :sob::triumph:

CTL was gradually climbing from 40-65 mid-September to mid December. Tried to maintain, biggest problem was work rather than Christmas, but only fallen to 60.
Normal work next week (8-5) so looking forward to kickstarting some proper training.

Don’t think I’ve posted on this thread before.

First club swim session of the year on the first day that the pool is open after their Christmas closure. Pool temperature hadn’t yet stabilised & we were treated to 32degC

My CTL dropped from 73 before xmas to 63 today. Combination of family life and lurgy. Starting to feel better so went for a steady jog today which helped. Hoping to start building up again over the next couple of weeks. I have loads on at work and my youngest has an op in a couple of weeks (to reduce reflex from her solitary kidney). Surgeons say it’s quite a straight forward op but I’m still feeling pretty anxious about it as she’s not even 2. Assuming all goes ok - I’m going to buy a new/old bike and focus on cycling for 2020 (last year 50% was running).

60 minutes strength and core done.

Hitting the gym early means not having to deal with all the January sign upsšŸ™ƒ

Yeah, I still don’t know what CTL is, or how to calculate it

I don’t cop it too bad at the work gym but there is an effect each Jan. I tend to go a bit early anyway to avoid the lunchtime changing room chaos. Will be heading down about 9.00.

I was given a new running shirt for Xmas and had two pairs of new shoes (1 road, 1 trail) in the box that I bought last year on offer. Decided to retire my road pair on NYE and used the new pair, with the new shirt at the gym yesterday. With the additional Xmas weight, I probably looked like ā€˜one of them’

Hope it all goes ok. Understandable to be anxious and you’ll be so happy once it’s done!
