Made it up Ventoux, about 1:40, AP 215W, started off easy but realised how long it was going to take so picked it up a bit.

There’s a 1k loop at the top then cruised some of the way back down.

It’s not a bad course, but I don’t remember some of the bits on the real road, don’t recall tunnels? It did have the Tom Simpson monument though.

I have got the Emonda now though.

Wheel of fortune at top or bonus xp?

Don’t remember a wheel of fortune at the top so it must have been XP.

Did get 2 wheel of fortune’s on the way up (I think).

If you haven’t got the lightweight wheels get the enve for climbing.

I’ve got the Enve3.4 SES and Cannondale Eve now.
Saving up for the Tarmac Pro.

I just use tron or disk/808 now depending on profile of course. Id only use lightweights for an alpe climb finish.

I have the 808s as well (didn’t buy them, back in the day you just got them for levelling up) and used to use them for everything but I tend to use the Lightweights as my go to set.

Am I right in thinking you can’t change wheels on the Tron bike?

def lightweights for an alpe race.
venge s-works with super9 disk is better than tron on flat courses, only v slightly. tron best for hillier courses, all rounder. felt AR just behind (and looks good in white lol).

Only if you have 858 the 808/super9 is marginally slower. We are talking Team Sky level marginal gains though

I’ve got 3.8m drops left, haven’t bought a fast road frame yet (I have the Aeroad as a level up but never use it).

I want to get the Felt IA at lvl 37 which is over 1m alone.

So, is a fast road frame and 808/super9 the best for flat courses/. why not a TT frame?

1sec over a 40min figure of 8. Thats the gain of the venge s-works and super9 over the tron. that was a pritchard test. possibly bit more on the flat.
yes you need to lev and buy up first.
but also bear in mind if you dont have tron then youll get several secs gains from right frames and deep wheels.

rare ive seen lightweights in any big events. yes might help you get a good kom, but the pack will soon come back on downhills, and you need a fast bike to get the choccies in the final attacks, sprints

I’m confused by your answers. I have the Tron bike, I have the 808s, I have the 808/Super9. I’m asking why would you use a fast road frame, rather than the Felt IA TT bike?

When you say ‘level up’, level up what and buy what?

Simply because Daz races. And in races, you need to be able to draft.

are you one of those guys that races in a general (non TT) race with a TT bike?
please keep doing that!

No I don’t race in Zwift at all. I’ve had 35 years of racing IRL. I like challenging my own times on Zwift.

So I ask again, level up to what and buy what?
