Virtual Zwift Rides

It’s kind of weird, rider density is so great that is effectively non drafting for most of the race, ie you are never out of the draft just moving around in the pack.

So think TT effort for 30 minutes rather than the usual Zwift 3 mins of max effort then cruise.

Top 800 required…

Currently riding the bigger loop as a warm up. Riding through the he mud of the jungle :rage:

I’m booked on the 5 & 7pm depending on getting the wall papering prep done in time. I have a 90 min over Under set to do so will see what happens on the mountain route.

Still aiming to get on at 5 but my legs are suffering the 5K earlier

Got into the pen with 25 minutes to go

400th in!!

Coming up to 2k with 10 minutes to go

I was in the 10am one. I did mine as 4x 5 min VO2 intervals which meant I’d gain 300 places during the interval then lose 150 ish during the 5 minute easy spin. At the end of the last one I was 1700th & summat, so my normal cool down to the line got put on hold as I’d set not falling below 1800 as a target. 1749th

Christ over 5k people riding that. Just a long line of riders until the descent of the radio tower. Found myself in a group of 5 which doubled in size all the way back to the beach front - quite fun actually, liked the little tour touches, yellow ride ons etc

290 watts for 52 minutes

That was a good effort after the leg spinner earlier :grimacing:

I only got in the pen with about a minute to go, moved up from about 3500 to 2250th.

Started steady and increased the power from there, also hit 100kph on the way down.

Legs are toast now

Bitch.
Been trying for this one !

Lol, I did it before but it reckons I hit 101 this time :astonished:

The legs knew about it though, it’s a steep descent, was cruising to about 90 then hit the gas for a few seconds. The wattbike does help though with the stability.

Maybe a thick question. Given that Zwift have added France, why was etape de tour today in Wattopia?

Argh got to 99kmph on finished 711

I think they were trying to market it as ‘Nice’

That’s where the Grand Départ is anyhow

Think I did see it on the banner at the top of the epic KOM

I did watch the Pro TdF races. Not too bad, plenty happening with sprints and KOMs but loses the team dynamic in terms of team mates working together.

The power ups were unnecessary; element of luck and timing the use of them overriding riding ability.

Quite liked the views of the riders in their pain caves, helicopter noises for aerial shots and the crowds they have put in at KOM banners etc.

Commentators struggled, tough job to be fair, had to laugh ‘and the crowd is going wild…’

Did Road to Sky but forgot to set up a fan and could wring my socks out

Since the TdF update the power/resistance fluctuations on climbs have come back. Using a cadence sensor had seemed to have sorted it.

did this a few weeks ago, didn’t realise how damp the shoes were as a result of the wet socks until I went back to the garage where they were sill clipped in - not pleasant

I though the coverage was poor, didn’t translate well at all to television. Commentary poor, they didn’t really know what was going on camera angles a bit strange. Watched 3 replays of the KOM when they were in the last km or 2. You should watch Nathan do a broadcast on ZCL. 10 times more engaging with no tools like the “pros” had.

Just snuck into the 800s.

3W/kg got me 1:05 ish.

Hungover, too :face_vomiting::face_vomiting::face_vomiting::beers::scream:
