I haven’t been outside on a bike since February. So making the most the Etape events to make the training more interesting in the hope that I can get back outside in the next fortnight.

I know.
I was waiting for some kind of flat respite

Chapeau! not sure I used to be out of bed that early when I was on the 6am shift

Well that’s that. Yep, it’s long @Adam

91.25 Finished 324/1250 or so.

Was in the top 360 at the start, then realised in my haste setting up at 4.55 I’d forgotten to switch the fan on! So I powered up, jumped off flicked it on and lost 120 places!

Made it my mission to work back to 350. Hit that with about 6 km to go, but then the field starting to thin. So set 350 as my target. Hit that with 3km to go. So, obviously aimed for 340. Hit that with 1.5km to go so buried myself to go sub 330. Had been bouncing back and forth for some Aussie so decided to drop the hammer and shake them in the last 500m.

Average 231 Watts for the climb.

3.2 w/kg

ETA - I am on a dumb trainer. So that makes things easier. I just ride it like a long time trial and hold my watts, with the odd mini surge to stay with the riders around me.
