So…after you’ve all said the above, I had a little test (not cheating) this morning:
I’ve always used my power pedals as the power input source whilst on the turbo.
Why? Well, this ensures it’s the same on the road and indoors.
This morning, I switched to using the turbo as the power source in ERG mode.
WOW!
What a difference.
Looks like my pedals have been under-reading by about 15W, but I have to do a longer test to confirm that.
My 2.5W/kg session was proper easy, instead of an absolute slog fest like Monday’s TdF route.
I always found my Bkool read lower than my P2M, increasingly so the higher the power.
Having said that, I’m nearly 100kg (and have been over that at times too) so my weight is the equivalent of really tightening the roller on a normal turbo compared to a more normal 70/80kg rider, which might account for my findings.
Yep only the Neo is known to be accurate. Its the gold standard. It tracks my P1 pedals pretty evenly too although it can react a little slower to changes. The original Kickr was always “the racers choice” . I think the newer ones are better.
Ive got the H3. Be aware that a knocking sound is highly likely to develop;
My own video is on here (post 670) https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/saris-h3-discussion-issues/23182/675
Saris have sent me a (free) kit to fix it - which includes a new pulley wheel.
Its lovely and quiet most of the time tho.
I use my pedals for power, however, done lots of comparisons with Neo 2T. Generally Neo is 2-10w lower than Assioma’s, I attribute this to Drivetrain losses. At the start of any ride, the difference tends to be at the larger end, however, after 10 mins or so they track each other pretty closely, not sure if this is Assioma self calibrating of the Neo. Interestingly the difference is greatest around 200w, by 300w there is almost no difference
Ah thanks. eBay was automatically adding the ‘Turbo Trainer’ category when I searched for this, and was then filtering out this result and a few others.
This is from @leahnp mentioning the Wiggle eBay - that TriSportsResortUK is the Wiggle eBay site where they sell returned goods.
Most of them are brand new, just damaged packaging or a few instructions missing.
Like @mw22 said, that’s a damn steal for that trainer - I think it might go up to £500-£600 by this evening, which would still be a steal.
@Poet the wiggle site is an Aladdin’s cave as there things that were used on Wiggle’s come and try days and then returned to the warehouse or some refurbed Neos going for bargains.
