Virtual Zwift Rides

See TTowel top of the As!!!

Was there a bit of a lead-in as the clock didn’t seem to start straight away so I’d already done about 45 seconds hard.

Noticed funkster not far behind with about 4k left. 12th overall for me I think and as mentioned TTowel was first with something like 5.4w\kg, 3 A+ riders as well.

Also think I took the last sprint which really hurt.

Wonder how much the better bike and wheels would give me.

And a 20 minute power PB of 332W

I tried following one, he was only doing 1.2w\kg, I’d have been there until Christmas. Might try the faster one at some point.

Noticed people on all different bikes which I thought was odd

Make sure she doesn’t steal your bandwidth for zwift racing :joy:

Yeah tried the Halloween pacer not and it was a very poor experience with the way it changed pace. Won’t be trying it again.

Find the regular bots a good way to warm up or get some miles in when no events/group rides fit.

For the zwift races might be an idea to put your Cat before your name eg ‘(A) Daz Carter’. That way we can see who we’re up again in our Cat and will show up on the leaderboard at the end.
Interested to see this leaderboard - presuming we can see the whole list, scroll down at the end. Or find it after on the companion ap.

Nice little brag there

If it chucks it down Sunday, I’m doing 3hrs with a bot, to get that drops multiplier.
Or a couple of times up Alpe :face_vomiting::rofl:

Lol wasn’t intended. 2 years hard labour

Yes, I waited till I had climbed 40,000m before signing up. Still not got it yet

I would say that was a well executed race, you kept with the lead group. There is no shame in getting swamped at the end, you are a triathlete after all, not a crit racer

Ta - looking back I hit slightly better power numbers for the kicker and the finish line - albeit from the bottom of the hill into the volcano the time was exactly the same.
Was alot less demoralising actually catching a few rather being completely swamped at the end which was what happened previously.
Wasnt last tho - job done

Case of FOMO for not doing this… especially as it was a TT, where I actually stand a good chance of a podium. None of this sprinting nonsense

Decent race that:

@funkster came in 3rd in his cat with a VI that makes me feel very nice inside…I reckon if he started to “weight dope”, by dropping 0.5-1kg per week, then he’d be winning races very soon ( it’s only a game, right  )

I didn’t realise @jeffb was such an animal on the bike!!!
Pretty sure he was saying he hasn’t been under the hour for a while on a 25TT - those W/kg would say otherwise :open_mouth:

Speaking of which…it’s been a week since I last dropped a virtual kilogram…

I’ve never been under 24mins for a 10 - I’m so sh1t outside

Did arace on the hilly volcano circuit and really struggled from the off. Quite a bit down on what I was pushing out in the TTT. Ended up as 2 long sweet spot efforts with a sprint for 45th place :man_facepalming:t2: 19th in B cat.
