Virtual Zwift Rides

Was the start any better?

Obviously we all got moving… tho by the time I stopped looking at the cameras backwards… you’d all gone up the rode and my 3.5wkg wasnt bringing you back!! Then I seemed to leapfrog a few joined the main pack… didnt dare check rear camera again!

Yes.

Wasn’t sure when we were going though.

Maybe next week specify at say 1km?

haha no problem. I did keep my eye on it but was also trying not to get caught from behind. I’ve got mixed feelings about the ride.

First of all, awesome display by those at the front, that went pretty much how I expected. I did think I could get more out of myself but my cycling has really sunk. I still would have not been in the group the whole way but thought I might have done better than 4km

I was confused at the start. I thought we’d agreed to to roll out slowly then Jorgan shot off the front, then we seemed to gather up and I was looking for the ‘GO’ message (maybe I missed it). Either way, even if I had seen it, I couldn’t live with that.

I ended up at 30.57 for 270 watts.

Let me know if you do join one as I might duck out of them and do some Zwift racing but will join back in if you are racing :slightly_smiling_face:

I jumped on a race with a mate (coming back from a long lay off, so not in great shape) so stayed with him and tried to pace him in and out of groups. It’s so nice to be the one not on the rivet. Able to surf up and down from group to group. False sense of ego! :joy:

Mate snapped with 4 laps to go (Crit one, dolphin I think) so I rode steady for 2, then planned to drop my group and push the last 2 (3.8km). Went hard for penultimate then, despite the plan being to save something for tmw, went all in on the final lap. Near on killed myself. :joy:

Be nice to see my stats for teh last few kms. Especially as I’ve had a big, for me, 5 days of constant stuff.

Will do. Might try and get in cat D crit city tomorrow if I get home in time. Need to up my zwift weight by a few kgs, should see me nicely nestled at very top of cat D. Alternatively, I could stop scoffing the fridge every night and maybe continue on my clear trajectory to bottom of cat C. Decisions, chomp, chomp, decisions…

Isn’t tomorrow your big showdown?

On a spectrum of doing nothing to going nuts, you certainly seem to have gone for it in making sure your excuses are fairly formidable…are you going to hand him a strava printout of your weeks activity at the top of the big climb? :grinning:

And duh, good luck!

Haha, yup. I’m just going to be a dirty wheel sucker the whole way. Put the pressure on him! :joy: :joy:

It’s all good training though eh. Training for what I’m not quite sure. But weirdly I feel motivated and in ok shape at the mo.

Showdown with whom?

A real life buddy. Been smack talking me on a local segment. So we’re gonna race.

Cos we’re grown ups and real mature.

Be careful or I’ll suggest Richmond

Ven-top?

Does fall under the 20k limit… tho I truly hate that route

Not tried it yet, may be some large time gaps though
