Virtual Zwift Rides

Was sat on your wheel @fruit_thief first half lap, think I can past after the cobbled descent. Was quite busy at that point. Was watching leaderboard more than the road

No ranking points for me and TRO suffering in Cat A… giving them out willy nilly in Cat B I see

@joex yeah watching can be a pain… depending where the race is.
Often easiest way is to join the same race… then just flick through the other riders. Alternatively you might need to do a world hack to make that world available to you.

But yes, once in - zwiftpower more or less links up to most peoples in game name

My legs are still wobbling a bit! That got me a few points, but I was about 60W down on the 4K dash on the same loop in November.

Still not got the hang of the gears yet.

Im well happy with that - particularly the pacing…

.
No surges, embracing my inner Funkster.
We all definitely moved up during the race.
2nd highest 5min effort for me… only bettered by a Bologna effort 11 months ago.

Deffo up for next week… tho 9k sounds tough!

I eeked out a few more watts than the 4k… I assume again down to better pace at the start.

Good pacing.

Miles down on every metric for me, I realised after about 2 minutes I was being suicidal but struggled to ease back. I’m starting to wonder if the Wattbike was overreading before Christmas, but I did put out ~290W on a (real) 25 so over short periods I should be capable of more.

I’d also been doing some squats in the gym etc. and lots of hill climbing so had quite a bit of strength in the legs. Long way until anything meaningful yet luckily.

How’s the hip?

The hip does seem to be improving thanks, but the groin area and osteitis pubis (sp) still seems a bit problematic at times, but I think I’m focusing on it a bit. I don’t seem to get much soreness or discomfort for long after even a long ride which is good.

I think the physio might say I’m alright to start a bit of running next week, I’m almost nervous after nearly 4 months. I think if I do and there’s no obvious pain during\after etc. I might stop concentrating on it.

Thats good news, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be when you can’t get out there and exercise

Chuffed with 17/163 on the Superleague TT race this evening. Decent power and it shows my last race where I got an FTP bump wasn’t a fluke. 1 min faster than PB on that course compared to 1 month ago.

Yeah think you can do this, I watched the guys TTT a couple of weeks ago after having a tech melt down in the start pen

Yes, been a bit frustrating not being able to run, only bonus is that with the snow, ice and travel restrictions I wouldn’t have been over the moors much.

I need to remember that although it’s been bad at least 4 months, it’s only about 5-6 weeks ago I started getting regular treatment, and especially on the hip problem so it’s probably recovering quicker than it feels.

I’ll have to see what next week brings, at least it will get warmer and lighter soon and I’ll be able to walk on the moors in 3 weeks

Oh this omnium starts tomorrow… Can we muster a team at late notice??

Is anyone doing it? I’m tired but could have a go, I’m guessing we won’t have a big team.

Couldn’t even work out how you registered a team. Said to go to 3R facebook page… but dead end to me!

My legs are also toast after yesterday!

Gotta work late, so I’m out

No worries, could do with a rest day.

I’ll just stuff my face instead and then blame your IT incompetence when I have to up my weight on Zwift

Been out on my TT this lunchtime chasing Strava segments (remember that…) so tonight would be a race too far.

Keen to repeat that Wyn TT event, runs same time for next 4 weeks I think 19:30 Mondays.

Outside cycling :flushed:

I’m hoping to do most of the series, needs to be the evening session for me, except the Easter weekend.

Don’t forget BST in less than 3 weeks though :grinning:
