Virtual Zwift Rides

Good thrashing tonight on the Zwift Tri Nations event. It was won by TT1.0’s own Will Newbury.

So clearly racing in Cat A is best if you’re a decent B. Today’s race, the guy 1 sec ahead of me in B scored 442; whereas in A my score was 309

Christ…you see @gingerbongo s rug and it’s deeply disturbing.

This is almost freaky in comparison🙈

I’ve only got a tiny bit of fluff. Deffo not a rug. Sure it wasn’t the light?! Haha

Lol at least there’s footwear, and shaved down is more aero right?

Amber nectar seems like it may be decent race nutrition after all:

Very weird race , 3 laps of London. rather than Muller it from the off, I started off steady and finished my tinny. In 3rd group, 2nd group was a minute ahead at one point but they must not have thought to bring their Fozzies because we reeled them in and caught them on the 3rd lap, then somehow I rode off the front of the new group on final hill. It was only a small race and there were a few As a couple of minutes faster. :man_shrugging:

Pretty stupid thing to do, I know, was just really thirsty getting home from work and spied it all cold and glistening in the fridge.

Wasn’t planning on doing a race, just a little spin with some music. Next thing, it’s 75 minutes and a pool of sweat later…

Similar observation to @Jorgan, no points on offer for being a B tonight even with the :trophy:

Had the same myself recently, really struggled to get points including a first place.

I think the Giant Crit Crushers have been on and a lot of people might have entered them?

More power = lower placing

The irony being it was a b cat ‘anti sandbag’ race with a guy boshing out a solid 330w :joy: :joy:

I was watching Chris Pritchard’s YouTube channel and he’s a Cat B despite the fact he can put over over 1000W

Critted tonight, missed the lead 6/7 A’s but cruised it in group 2 (mix of As and Bs), and shocked myself by ‘winning’ that sprint with a long one and first ranking improvement for a while.

Ah actually the points thing is a PITA! Today I scored 420 for coming 17th in A, but guy behind me came 5th in B and scored 298 🙆🤬 Especially as I’m technically a B.

Why don’t they just ignore Cat for mass starts?!

Absolutely, this.

Although I have a feeling that in some races they might do?? Have pretty much given up trying to understand it.

Did a time trial yesterday which resulted in -9 points, I assume that the A B C D thing was irrelevant, everyone entered as E. But actually, not sure

3 races in 3 days, had pretty stiff legs this morning

Oohh errrr

Herd race on the Out and back route. As a relative lightweight, I’d thought I’d be pretty ok up the volcano. Turns out there seems to be quite a few <70kg riders in Bcat :man_shrugging:t2:. Anyway, a good little work out with a 30min warm up and down, either side.
