Get Mathew Pritchard on instead.

Now there’s someone desperate to stay in the ‘limelight’. I thought he was going to row the Atlantic at short notice last I saw?
He did.
Finished last week or so
In stupid things I did today.
Entered a 16km crit race, but did an 84km warm up
Cracked with under 3km to go
You know you could’ve rode 100km outside, yeah?

Bit wet
Ah, the lovely May weather we’re having?
You’re off the hook 🪝🙈
I can’t remember a Spring this shit; certainly in the 10 years we’ve been living back here. Would have been great for winter walking/climbing in Scotland though 💁
I’ve found myself on the start line for the Canyon TT
Legs don’t seem to keen though
F***, that hurt, legs not interested at all!
Edit: all that pain and misery for .1 ranking point
From April until now, 1986 was the last time with a lower average temp, so get a better memory!
Yes, I can remember being a 12 year old boy thinking that at the time
1986 had a super cold January which would have skewed it.
It derailed the West Ham Division one title charge (only one of my lifetime) as we ended up playing all Jan’s games in May .
2013 was filthy cold until mid May, but this sod of a year is going all the way to June…
We were getting wound up, and relegated to division 3
1986, I remember stuff like Chernobyl!
Just did a 90 min endurance group ride. Found it a really good way of staying engaged on what would be a boring ride, even more so than watching a film (like i did yesterday). Just watching and reacting to the natural ebb and lfow of the ride.
Had a stupidly sore back yesterday after my session. Weirdly really low down in, right on my spine. Seemed ok when i woke up today though. Put my saddle up another mm or so, and then forward by a good cm. Almost running out of room for my knees due to the clip on TT bars, but felt more comfortable.
Also saw at least a 5w immediate increase in power, both in aero and sat up. I averaged pretty much the same power as yesterday’s ride, and it felt much more comfortable! So that’s a bonus.(i guess that means it wasn’t really endurance, and probs a bit too hard).
always a bonus when you can find free watts
For those sorts of steady rides, I’ve also quite enjoyed using the pace partners. Quite a good way of always having a group to ride with at a W/kg that suits you for that particular session. With an added bonus of extra xp, if you’re into all that.
