Virtual Zwift Rides

@jeffb I’ll be dropping out tonight at about 19 mins 50 something seconds

OK so I really struggle to do my recovery rides at true recovery power on the trainer/zwift. At the moment it’s not a problem as riding at 75%-80% with my current load - 600 tss is as high as I get at the mo as I struggle to fit in any more - isn’t damaging me. I don’t think it is anyway. But as I get deeper into my block it may start having an impact.

The trouble is I just can’t pedal at less than 75% without it feeling awful. Like I’m constantly spinning out or have no resistance. Or I have to grind slowly and jerkily at under 60rpm.

Is this what people mean when they talk it inertia of turbos? I have a cheap wheel on one that is pretty unstable and crap. Is this an equipment issue, or just me?

I’d say it’s your turbo.

This is the beauty of a direct drive smart trainer.

ERG mode on, spin the pedals and disengage brain

Yeah in doing a 2.2-2.5 group ride at the mo and it’s painful. And it ain’t like I’m a top cyclist! 65rpm to be able to hold 2.5 w/kg.

Oh well. Not much I can do.

65rpm will sort you out though but not quite the recovery ride you’re after.

Turbo trainers. Just another item in the endless money pit that is triathlon!

Lame :unamused:

might change back tomorrow

Laptop crashed in the start pen for the zrl TTT :man_facepalming:

Same here! :honeybee:
I switched from direto to neo when my belt snapped and I’ve lost a lot of Watts!

Did the Zwift TTT tonight with @mw22, that was unpleasant!

Was feeling it a bit to start with after a tiring day and poor nights sleep, somehow hung on at ~300W although they did have to wait for me on the climb, probably helped overall though by having more people on the flats.

Picked up a few points as I was racing in cat A.

Start was ok…hill was the easy bit for. Hanging on for Life thru the desert tho.
Glad that rise came when it did.

Not sure if I’ve missed the pain or not.

You’ll feel the pain when you look on the Tritalk ZP leaderboard

God thought I’d gone straight back to cat A.
I’m fine mid table…it’s technically off season in Watopia :grimacing:

I didn’t think you got points for TTT?
You have… And it’s in your profile.
Mines showing a 211 score which could replace a 300+ and not in my profile.

I’m calling shenanigans :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I didn’t either so no idea what’s happened :man_shrugging:t2:

IT is beyond me :joy:

It’s added it… dropped one of my 270 scores and left me agonisingly 1 point behind.

As a legit cat B we did well to keep up. They should tap up some of the cat As on here tho …eh Nick

@mw22 carry on training, we’ll get you into Wattbombs or Bullets next season

Brilliant TTT tonight, if 37minute of pain is your thing
