Virtual Zwift Rides

Crit City race, this evening. Came 17th in the C race (seemed to be categorised by distance and not Zwift category). Worked my way through from mid 30s and had a ghost for the last couple of laps which I planned to use in the last small downhill section, to get away. Just didn’t have the legs though, and 2 of the 7 I was with out sprinted me. Nice little bump in ftp though.

Thanks to that zwiftinsider article on what to buy, I’ve just nabbed the Enve wheels and the zwift aero road bike. So that’s the best setup I can have now until level 13 when the 808s become available (on level 9 at the mo, but poor on drops).

Im on level 19 and the enve wheels are still on my bike 90% of the time.

Yep - level 25 and only ever use the 808s or the Enves

I don’t think I have the Enve’s. I use Zipp 202s or 808s depending on flat or mountain.

I believe the 3.4s come second only to the Lightweights and iirc they’re under 200k drops

Which one would be best to buy first given I only have enough for the enve wheels or the zwift aero frame?

Madone & 808s if it’s flat(ish) or the Tarmac Pro/Enve for anything very hilly.

The answer is nearly always Tron bike

I’d get the wheels… I almost wouldnt bother with the zwift frame and wait for the specialized at level 14.

All well and good - except it tells you to buy everything

Given I only had enough drops for either wheels or frame, but on Level 8 (nearly 9) already I got the wheels - seem like a longer term investment and seemed to make more of a difference both on flat and hills compared to the frames. Will wait out for one of the frames mentioned above

no - just go for the red ‘must buy’ options.

Yep - still didn’t have enough drops for all the red ones

If @Poet was zwifting instead of DIY’ing he would have done a calculator for us already.

Put in your level, drop count and it would figure out the rest.

I hadn’t noticed drops seem to increase much quicker going up the Alpe than on the flat - then found this: https://zwiftinsider.com/how-drops-work/

As soon as I’m due a Tesco trip, I can go to B&Q beforehand for some essential repair items (like bathroom ceiling paint) and when I’m there, I can buy a 1200m x 400mm x 18mm knotty pine board to make my worktop for my turbo dungeon.

I’ve a TV, mirror, laptop and fan all waiting to be used.

For a split second I thought you had a pair of handlebars as your backpack rack
