2nd part is probably true any way. But!! I will probably Zwift, for 2 reasons, one I still havent bought a cassette but the main reason is because Im still such a big fat fatty even if I try and select the flattest route I can I will still have to content with hills that are going to push me in to the deep. It wont be an enjoyable ride. On Zwift I can control it
Would love to be out doors but wife working and kids not old enough to be left alone so zwift it will have to be this weekend.
I have plenty - how many are valid however
I hate Long Lane past the shooting range - I could use that as an alternative commute to avoid so much traffic; but there’s been so many incidents. I find that a really stressful road with the lack of visibility at the corners.
I also dont do cafe stops - Coco doesn’t stop at cafes does she!!
I’ll be out for a long ride on Sunday, but tomorrow I’ll be on Zwift.
I’ve got to ride for 30+ minutes through heavy London traffic to get to anywhere that any sane person would want to ride, so if I’ve got less than 2 hours to ride then Zwift makes more sense than IRL.
I might put the turbo out in the garden though
I don’t do cafe stops either.
We stopped last night, a couple of times.
8 minutes stopping time on a 50km ride
Anything less than 100km or 25° and I won’t be stopping
I never had a problem on that Lane.
I did an audax from Sawley and they used that, blew my mind! I never knew about it and it opened up all of Leicestershire and Notts to me, avoiding the A50/453 and M1. Bye bye Derbyshire hills
Hmm…you all have a lot of excuses.
None of them are particularly valid
I think you’re all just scared of what your actual outdoor power is compared to inside
Dude, give it a rest. Some people want to do something differently to you, WGAF
I certainly DGAF.
Hence the amount of wink and tongue out emojis.
Are you even a cyclist then
You mean nothing to me anymore
I’m not scared - I’m well aware it will be dire! Last year I was all confident coming out of winter I was going to smash the IRL stuff. That soon led to disappointment
FTP way down this year inside; so I have no hope outdoor.
However if all the races can help my 1 min power - I’m hoping my local segment battle with my bro in law and my neighbour will finally both be mine.
I hate stopping full stop. Even on commute “ooh that would make a nice photo” - but he11 no I’m not slowing this already pathetic commuting pace down even further.
My IRL pal was trying to get me to enter an open TT last night
Luckily, I’ve a triathlon the day after. Phew!
I think the local TTs start soon (end of April ish?)
Which will be interesting to see if I can do 300W on the flat, in the TT position for 23mins
That’s my dream too, but just 2 problems
- 300W
- finding a flat TT in Dorset
I’ve done it uphill.
For the past three years, so I know I can produce the power.
Just never on the flat.
Had 299W last year, but actually went quicker on lower watts the week after
And I’ve been quicker than both of those at 267W.
Temps and wind probably the same.
Just bizarre.
Find a nice dual carriageway with plenty of lorries and it’ll be just like riding with the pace partners on Zwift
Yeah - I’ve got a super tasty time on the A50 Etwall - Uttoxeter bypass from about 15 years ago.
Only problem is a few people got killed on there, so I stopped riding it
We have the A303. Not a chance I’d ride on that
Not especially flat either
Come at me…
Only have two bikes.
Training and race
Training bike is on the Wahoo, with no rear brake pads and in need of a new chain/service
Race bike needs bar end shifters replacing
It’ll be me, the BMTR century ride on Zwift and the 3hr Empire Spoiler Special about The Batman tomorrow
Yep. Zwift for me too.
Only got a slot Sunday evening
- Easy for you
- You might need a steamroller
I beat Steve Irwin on a 10 on the A303, still my PB in fact.
Course has gone of course.
The Aussie TV guy who got clobbered by a stingray?
