It’s no IRL effort… But 3 times up Bologna felt like suitable punishment.

Nice n progressive, caught the 2 flyers on last one. Then tried to push on for non victory as it was a group ride :flushed:.

IRL ride for me today and I started to wish that I was on Zwift.

The sun was shining so the whole world was out in their cars today. I had more close passes and abuse from angry motorists today than I’ve had in all my other rides this year combined.

It really wasn’t pleasant :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Found similar with running the lanes round here recently, it’s almost as though people have seen the Highway Code changes and are now getting as close to people rather than being further away

Had a great ride outside today. Only one slightly close pass and weirdly was from a left hand drive car so they really should have been able to give more room. Glorious weather.

I’m not quite sure where this “glorious weather” was :snowflake::dash:

The sun was out, yes, but the wind was awful and I was in full winter kit :see_no_evil::cold_face:

I took dogs out whilst deciding what to do. Eyes were streaming just walking. Looks like it calmed down later on, alas too late.

Bologna tripple hill champion :trophy: (it wasn’t a race).

I wish I had a triple for todays single hill :see_no_evil:

The Helmsley TT road was really busy and a lot of people have obviously got their motorbikes and Mod scooters out of winter hibernation as there was a lot of them about.

People seem to be getting angrier, some of the dangerous overtaking moves yesterday were almost scary, and forcing oncoming traffic into the gutter, just to save a few seconds because they CBA to overtake safely.

Yep. Just chatting to my next door neighbour and he got grabbed by the throat by some absolutel c*nt of a daily mail driver who close passed his group. Was giving it the classic no road tax, bla bla bla.

It’s really not nice out there. So many angry, angry people.

I actually think those shitrags try to stir the knuckle draggers up as well on purpose :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

That was what we said. He (my neighbour) gets given those papers from another neighbour up the street (who I can’t stand and am not surprised that they read the DM) to use for his rabbits/Guinea pigs. Anyway he says thta he can’t help but read the odd article as he’s ripping it up.

He said it’s not just utter junk. There’s serious agendas going on to stir the pot on things like this. Not cool.

That’s an afternoon ride for me :see_no_evil:
Down’t Cat and back via Tytherington and Prestbury.

EDIT: it was. Before I got fat :pig: :whale2:

I’m not gonna bother with hills.
Bolesworth, Bunbury, Tarporley, Delamere and Oulton will become my friends :dancing_women:

Cycling stories are pure click bait. The anti-cycling mob and the pro cycling groups all pile in guaranteeing maximum advertising revenue.

Next time someone tells you that cyclists don’t pay road tax, ask them what the tax is on an EV or a hybrid. See how they rationalise that

Haha, yeah the EV crowd might take some heat off the cyclists and they take up more space :joy:

Can’t see many DM readers having an EV either.

Anyone using a gravel bike for Stage 4 of ToW then?

New Gravel Surface

*Zwift’s press release for ToW includes this intriguing line: Zwift will be laying down gravel over existing dirt for a new way to experience the jungle.

Our sources inside Zwift tell us this is a new event-only surface material never before used in Zwift. We aren’t totally surehow it will behave, but since it’s called “gravel” instead of “dirt” our guess is Zwift will make it perform better for gravel bikes than mountain bikes. We’ll have to ride it to find out!

I missed stage 3, so will have to do the catch up for that at the end of the month if i can.

You get assigned the std Zwift gravel bike and can’t change it.

Fair enough, makes that easy then.

I’ve been looking to spend a few drops as i’m on Level 28 or 29 so a fair ay away from the disc wheels yet. With the Tron bike in the stable as well as the Canyon Aeroad it seemed like a really good climber to go with my Lightweights would be the best addition, so i just bought the Chapter 2 TOA, which came in 2nd on the overall climbing list, but was astill decent on the flats.

Will get a more aero bike when i get unlock the really good wheels, as i don’t seem to be able to beat the Tron without the good wheels.
