Virtual Zwift Rides

Yesterday, a 3 lap Innsbruck race… ANT drops out at the top of the 3rd legsnapper climb :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Couldn’t get it to reconnect for ages; only one BT connection on the Surface, so use ANT dongle for power…on a USB hub  (one USB)

…still need a new laptop.

That really sucks, a drop out on the 3rd climb after all that effort

Oh well, I got the exercise, and enjoyed the event. I wasn’t going to score points as Cat A field was quite small.

2 X Gotham grind mass start. Entered B cat as more points on offer and made the front group. Got spat out on the first longer ramp when the front went ballistic and formed a 2nd group with 3 of us.

2k to go, I stuck a dig in on a ramp and held it over the top to gap one of the group and won a 2up sprint for 13th. I count that as a decent effort.

Back to my usual Zwift fuckwittery this evening

Decided to jump onto the Bologna TT but need a loo break so was late getting into the garage, thought it would be a 30s interval start and I’d be fine, jumped on with 15s to go and realised I was on the P5, by the time I’d switched to the Tron my wattbike had disconnected and most people had gone!

Luckily it was non-drafting and the clock started on the line so I pretty much went from last to about 9th on the road and a couple of places higher on the final standings. But the first 10 minutes were torture with no warmup!

Gained about 45 points so not a total disaster but they are fairly easy to come by when your ranking is 400+

Oh yeah, and someone called @buzz came 3rd overall ploughing out 4.5W/KG!!

Ha, saw you catching me on the cool down lap @jeffb

I had a strange one too. Entered a race in France but as soon as the banner dropped the results screen came up (blank) and i was dumped out of the race. Bologna was the next race on the list, so i jumped across, figured even if the same happened again i could ride the course. Chased a couple of guys on the flat, but they just gradually pulled a gap and it was over a minute by the line.

They were A+ though I think and maybe 5W/kg

It is 10° outside with 25mph winds.
I’m doing the rest of the Staffs course instead of going. Outside :joy::see_no_evil:

Dude, I’m sick of it. Like, it is now at the point where I am actually a little depressed by it.
I am about 51 minutes away to seeing what the cheapest flight from Manchester Airport is at 6pm today for a couple of nights.

EVERY Friday I took off work last year to do a >4hr ride was horrific. Hailstorm in May? Yup. Snow in April? Yup. Rain in July? Yeah, why the hell not. Getting blown off your bike in June? Go on then.
Winter was just awful.
Then since the end of March this year has been awful.
I’ve not worn sun cream this year, and that includes in Mallorca…where it rained. And was so windy one day, that the group I was riding with cycled with the tailwind down to Palma, then got the train back (well, to about 30km away)

Just properly pee’d off at the moment :frowning:

Same over here, windy AF today and it’s turning northerly for the next 10 days, highest temperature is supposed to be 15

Think we’ve had about a handful of decent days this year and I also want to get out on the bike. I had gloves on last Sunday!

Ha ha ha - I’m off from Tuesday afternoon, which is when the rain is due to stop :+1:t3:

But as I’m off it’ll probably just continue.

Enjoy those descents on the TT bike in the wet.

Bugger It, I’m taking the shitty old Allez - :helicopter::helicopter:

@Poet how long would you say that route you posted up a few weeks ago would take l? 2.5 hrs?

It’s 60km but a serious amount of ascent (over 1000m iirc)
