Virtual Zwift Rides

I move through the levels so slowly. Did they used to be capped at 30 and at each level you’d get something decent like a bike - instead of the drops + level system. Personally I would remove the level restriction for gear and if someone has enough drops let them buy it!

Also when the early zwifters had been on 30 for a while and it was increased to 50 - didn’t they get double points? That meant they got to 50 much quicker, the rest of us have to crawl along!

The ghost rider sounds good - bit like Mario Kart

Got a snazzy pair of Mavic shoes

Yeah when you get past L30 and it’s 20k XP for most of the levels it feels like it takes an eternity for each one

My zwifting in 2022 has been rubbish, I probably started the year on level 35 and I’m now on 38. The bike I have attached to the turbo is one I smashed up in an accident. If I try to sprint now the chain drops :rage: . I’m contemplating buying a smart bike and setting my family up on the other trainer. Are there any rumours of new smart bikes? Otherwise I might have to see what happens in the Black Friday sales.

As per the turbo thread - the bloke from zwift insider was trialling something claiming it was a game changer and not to buy anything until this was out there. Suggested it was more turbo than smart bike tho.

Bugger me these short races hurt, especially if you aren’t sure of the start and finish

Any interest in restarting TTT on a Thursday? I’d need a run in to get my power up as apparently im a bit crap and overweight at the moment.

A+ cats need not apply :no_mouth:

Yup. If i can make times work, I’d be keen. Am also crap at the moment!

I’ve just had a go at volcano climb race to try and get some longer efforts in before ZRL.
Goal A stay with the front group up the climb.
Goal B double digit sprint.

Volcano climb wasn’t too bad, very surprised to see only 8 secs off my pb.
36 started
9 over the top
6 contested sprint
4 had sprint power ups :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:
Came 4th, awaiting final sprint figures. Currently 8.9

I’m interested, as long as you don’t tell @buzz and @fruit_thief :grimacing:

Still mentally and physically scarred from last winter!

+1 for being crap so it looks like we are ready to go

Saw you in 4th on the sprint leaderboard as I was doing my cool down :+1:

My race was on Keith Hill After Party. Mixed cat start and the front group had about 20 As and five Bs, lots of surges and finally got dropped after 10 miles. Then in a group of 5 to the bottom of the climb, working well together to hold off the big group of Bs behind. Bided my time and made a big effort with 0.7 miles to go knowing that the last 0.4 miles are flat. With two Bs still up the road that got me a :3rd_place_medal:

I’m a maybe, partly depends on whether I give blood on Monday. If that’s the case my crapness increases to level 10 with the handbrake on!

Let’s be honest Jeff, you always forget to put the handbrake on and roll of the start line. :joy:

Luckily I think that is less of an issue now? Takes all the fun away of either chasing you all to catch up or letting you do the same :joy:

How was the Tiny series @r0bh ??
Looked like a crazy strong field.

Got a bit of a shelacking TBH! 60th, 33rd, 46th, 29th out of about 120 in each race. Bizarrely my best result was in the race that suited me least, the pan flat one.

I really struggle to hold my position in the bunch approaching the crucial point, so in races 1 and 2 I was starting the final climb from about 90th place :man_facepalming:

Hey guys, we’ve created a little race series.
Hope you can jump in when it kicks off next week!?
It’s 12 races over 6 weeks. Each week will have a looped, then a custom finish race. All around 7-11km, all cats (enforced).
Wednesday night 18:10 and 18:35pm (BST)
Hopefully individual and team GC, with custom power-ups.
