The most interesting part is this;
Out of 500 bikes that went into repair…
- 55% rim brake, 45% disc brake
So why the hell are there no rim brake wheelsets anywhere ![]()

To be fair, Wahoo have moved into software by buying RGT, so as long as all of the trainers are compatible with all of the platforms, I don’t see that it’s a problem ![]()
I mean Xmas present for myself! ![]()
Normally Mrs GB would spend about £100 maybe a bit more. So I go and buy whatever I want at a value significantly higher than that (as I’m fussy and there’s nothing ‘cheap’ that I want for Xmas. If there was, chances are I’d have already bought it) and she gives me £100.
Romantic isn’t it! ![]()
Ah. Phew!!! ![]()

New numerical font in game is w@nk.
I’d missed or forgotten that, can’t keep track with all these platforms, and there’s fulgaz?
I’ll stick with Zwift for now.
The subscription service is where the world is at, they must be barely breaking even on the hardware here?
Their long-term plan is probably to lease the hardware on a monthly basis too ![]()
Will we ever own anything again ![]()
Turbo bike drive train cleaned and lubed, flux greased, guess I’ll be back in the room soon, just need to ‘lose’ 5kg when signing in
FFS, 30 minutes on tempus fugit and 3 feathers ![]()
Oooh interesting. I mean I still need to get electricity hooked up to the garage, really would want a telly to go up the wall to cast off my phone, and I could just go with a TacX Flow for half the price. But I kind of want to buy it anyway.
Because going on a Smart Trainer through the winter means I won’t need heating to keep me warm. So it pays for itself, right. Right?
It’s definitely worth the extra to get a proper smart trainer in my limited experience
I had a tacx flow and upgraded to a Saris H3. It’s just so much of a better experience, especially if you like racing.
Now Saris have released the H4.
Considering they were looking at selling up and the H3’s have been sold with massive discounts, seems odd.
I saw that, clearly they think they’ll get bought and not have product lines dropped. DCR seemed to think something might get announced soon.
Can’t see many people buying one until their future is sorted.
Sounds like the H3 being available in some places for sub $400 is going down a storm tho. But no; I wouldn’t pay premium prices - especially as I did require hardward support to get my H3 sorted in the early days.
Zwift could be a politician ![]()
The amount of “dramatic U-Turns” and underhand dealings they’ve done ![]()
May 2022: “We’re not doing hardware. Bye bye (up to) 150 employees”
Sept 2022: “here’s our hardware. Thanks to the cost savings achieved through not paying for 150 staff, we’ve managed to acquire Volt and rebadge their trainer for our loyal subscribers”
If that was the UK, the employees would have a decent employment tribunal on their hands.
Very poor form from Zwift, there.
EDIT: January 2023 “subs are up to a basic rate of £15pcm. Soz folks.”
With a free turbo trainer, as per Whisk’s comments ![]()
1st step, split subs, $20 without a trainer, $50 with a trainer.
2nd step, quietly drop the $20 without option for new subs.
3rd step, everyone on $50.
I suppose it depends on how long the minimum contract is and how long before you get a new trainer, most of them last a while.
But yeah, get your point, I’ll probably be on level 48 by then and just sack it off and stare at the garage wall instead ![]()
