Virtual Zwift Rides

Crap :poop::poop::poop:

307W average up Ze Gradee.
275W FTP :rofl:

Not sure about that, seeing as I’ve done 8hrs at 209W recently :woman_shrugging:t4:

I mean maybe you just didn’t try hard enough :person_shrugging:

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Crap, you have to actually try?
Erm, yeah … I deffo didn’t :face_with_peeking_eye::face_vomiting::roll_eyes:

I’d have thought that corroborates rather than disproves.
8 hours at 76% FTP seems very realistic without saving for a run afterwards.

Damn it. I’m just weakAF then :sob::sob::sob:

Not weak, requires impressive diesel strength to actually be able to do the 8 hours at 209W, but without other things casting doubt (eg regular 5-10 minutes way way above 300W) then I’d think the 209 and 275 were possible on a flatter power curve.

Right, looking back, it’s probably accurate.
And I’m just poor at putting effort in :rofl:

4MAY2019 was a 25TT (1:00:41)
3MAY2021 was 2x15min on Zwift
6MAR2022 was Mow Cop Killer Mile :face_vomiting:

But I’m miles away from those now. But seeing I can do ~40kmh at just 267W is nice and reassuring :sunglasses:

Hmm. Actually the other way round, or just odd test results. You’re great at or above VO2M but only sustaining a low % of it, with big drop off on longer durations.

I’d expect someones 20 minute to be within a few percent to their 10min, not 20%?!

For reference my 60s is 600w, and my 5’ is 400w, with a one hour of 332w.

I’m shit at all of the different levels of cycling, if that makes you all feel better?! :joy:

My FTP as calculated by Zwift is 285W and there is NFW I could do 200W for 8 hours

Epic fail from me. Just didn’t have it in the legs. And wasn’t exactly chomping at the bit mentally either.

Pretty miserable way to spend a lunchtime. But rather than dwell on how weak I am, I’ll take it as a good interval workout to help tomorrow and the next day, week, month.

I just died and died and died at each subsequent segment! :joy:

Eta - it did confirm my current zwift ftp though. I was just secretly hoping I’d got stronger without riding my bike much. :roll_eyes::joy:

I’ve been avoiding a hard effort on it :joy: Bologna is still my go to for torture :joy:

I did average about 290w for over an hour a couple of months ago with the BL13 boys so it’ll probably be 300’ish :man_shrugging:t2:

I enjoyed it :face_with_peeking_eye::rofl:
It’s well easy to pace - although that flat section was a PITA :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Really nice being split up like that.
In fact, I think 2 x 20 mins @ FTP with the descent as recovery would be quite good!

Like said above, I wasn’t dead afterwards, so can’t have tried enough … although I’ve got my reasons why :face_with_peeking_eye::roll_eyes:

Did you find it harder as it kicked up towards the end?
I’ve only dropped into that climb halfway up and it felt bad enough.

But it doesn’t take 20min to climb?

I had no idea what power to set off at. The answer was obviously not as high as i did. So mine was just this gradual slow down with me hunting for easier and easier gears! :rofl:

How NOT to pace it!

I almost gave up completely at that big drop off point, but convinced myself to just back off a bit and get the F** on with it.

Didn’t think you get an accurate FTP from uphill anyway, most people can push out more power on an incline, so will inflate the result. Maybe they have allowed for that in the maths.

Does seem odd that the gradient isn’t constant, the flatter section in the middle is almost like a rest/reset point.

If you want to do 2x20min at FTP, go 20min up the alp. Get splits to every bend, rather than the nominal splits on the climb.

But we will have a TT leaderboard yeah??
Sounds like Jeff is KOM right now (can’t see half the results on strava for some reason).

I thought just use tempus fugit, and keep going for 20 minutes.

Largely irrelevant for me on the Wattbike though as I have to pedal downhill to stop it going to sleep :joy:
