Virtual Zwift Rides

Pretty sure I won a race on Rolling Highlands; I gave it full beans down from that last climb to gap the pack and hold on. You need a fairly soft pack though. Wouldn’t have worked yesterday, even though it was the sub 650 cat!

There’s always the potential for a much better score in ZRS events over Cat B. Lunchtime is fairly quiet these days too, outside ZRS?

I really enjoy races over Rolling Highlands, particularly with smaller fields as the repeated punchy climbs and longer drags mean if you commit to making it hard there’s opportunity to break away on the last up/down/up

Anyone ZRLing tomorrow??
Not overly keen starting with a TTT but hey ho.

I didn’t but the team(s) did, I doubt I’d have helped much as most of the lads in the team are A’s but the group chat suggested it was fun

Although the weathers been poor it just doesn’t feel like hamster wheel time of season yet.

Probably get back on the Thursday ttt in October and zrl when rnd 2 comes around in November.

One of best TTTs I’ve done. Felt great.
Target pulls were 340 (and I was the weakest).

Then almost dropped my entire team in last km and had to sit up…

League was stacked with big watts…our biggest threat overall finished second. We pipped em by 5 secs. Buzzing :grimacing:

Mike how’d you get the pull and recovery data up on the game screen, part of sauce?
I DS’d BL13 bullets and the guys were amazing, missing the division win by 0.5sec, to Aero. Aero usually win every race, but we’re trying to change that this series

Yeah one of the sauce mods.
You can define the wattage that you deem as effort, but it only triggers when you are in the wind.
Hence not quite showing a 30 sec pull.

I found it useful and gave me a nice target for next turn.

Those are strong numbers @mw22 :exploding_head:

Sounds like your team has figured out the best way to dose the efforts? Did you plan in advance that the efforts would be about 30 seconds or did you just ride until the legs told you to back off?

It’s all planned. Rotation and watts.
Half of the team has 200+ TTTs to their name.

I just do what I’m told… If I can

On Zwift, IRL, or mixture of both?

Just zwift

Zwift… Finished it (again). Took way longer than expected tho the goalposts did get moved.

I’ve got 4, and I imagine that’s higher than most! How many even are there in the country?

Did one of the climbing races on Friday. 4th across the line, 3rd in the results so one guy not showing up. But not the one I expected. How does this happen?

Less power, less W/kg and yet half the time.

Ive only ever seen that in some group rides that are time based and anyone quitting early ended up near the top of the leaderboard.

Just looks very broken.

Yeah broken. Bit more digging and I can see on the companion app that he did a different climb to the rest of us…

Thats laughably bad.

I had a really pleasing race yesterday. After getting smashed in a sprint last week on the same course; a much smaller field changed the finish dynamics and plan was to follow anyone going long.
Poor guy did all the work, then moved over like a good domestique!
(guy up the road - went off at 5-6wkg for ages; wasnt on ZP and certainly way over cat B limits)

(last km if you CBA)

Probably a ‘meh’ post for most of you but I’m now a couple of hundred meters away from the Tron bike.

I’m assuming I’ll instantly start winning all the races now right?

You probably need the fire socks as well for that :joy:

Actually raced tonight, sort of. Jumped onto a 25K TT in France as I wanted a reasonable workout, didn’t quite batter myself but after hardly racing on it for months the legs were a bit tired after. Although I think Sunday is still lingering.

Anyway, made it round and a decent workout.
