Virtual Zwift Rides

Do you think ZRL will go to Race Score at some point

I can’t see it until Sept 2025.
It’s just going to impact teams too much. They’ll be uproar.

I hope they have more than 5 categories when they do tho

I’m pace group B but racing score is only 441 :man_shrugging:

Big draft fest on ToW tonight as there’s new routes and possibly roads? I think it’s the original map or something?

Anyone try signing up on their website? It shows the event and different categories but no + button to enrol for it, have to do it in companion or when I’m online. It’s happened a few times.

Anyone else having issues with rides going from Zwift to Strava? Mine are appearing in Zwift and Garmin but not Strava, but I did get an email earlier from Strava mentioning connections but a quick glance suggested it hasn’t started yet and it does look to be connected in Strava.

Yes… But a bit more complex :scream:
Got a now ex team rider threatening to sue an event organiser over discrimination :person_shrugging:

Now I take zwift far too seriously… But FML.

Any thoughts and prayers are welcome for tonight! I’ve had a callup for the WTRL, we are in Cat A and I’m firmly a bang average B, this is going to be worse than double Bologna with Fruity

It’s also still only 9 days since giving blood which is normally 2-3 weeks before I’m back to normal, so this really is a case of trying to get round and gain any points for finishing!

First ZRL in a while, 8th at the 2nd sprint and 4th at the finish. But surprised at that :open_mouth:

That was every bit as horrible as I expected, out the back after the first spring at 1K! Got dragged round for about 12k off one of the lads on the team until we picked up a passenger going backwards. He was just sitting in so the other BL13 lad went away on the climb, while the limpet sat behind me until the last climb, then dropped me

Possibly the hardest I’ve worked for quite some time but the legs were shaking later on and I could feel the calf’s twitching during the ride :joy:

Nice Rob!!!
I didnt expect too much from first sprint and came 13th - slightly above expectations.
Felt good on Shisa climb and chased my team mate through the sprint - new max HR of 203 meant I somewhat died on the line losing a couple of spots for 4th!!
Unlike every other race; no-one seemed to want zone 2 between the action points so we got loads of attacks.
3 off the front before final climb never came back. Thought I was getting a bit of a gap with someone chasing - but quick glimpse back and the pack was there. Eased and tried for sprint but not much left - 8th at finish.
Probably one of my better results - but we’ve got a seriously stacked league again.

Think we’re in one of the bottom B leagues so things are a bit easier!

That was a truely horrible course. Guy who won our race was a solid cat B 12 months ago, but has found around 120w over the past 12 months… However, I suspect he has discovered the slope and crank length in his PM app

Anyone have the Zwift Play? Can they be fitted to a TT bike?

I have a Kickr that supports virtual shifting, not too fussed about steering at the moment, but as they are offering the Play for half price just getting Click Shifters doesn’t seem to be worth it.

Yes I’ve got them… I think you’ll need to be very creative to get them onto TT bars AND still be any use.
Even on normal drops I found them a bit annoying and ended up sliding them down the drops. So I can use steering and shifters (when I get a suitable turbo) but I can’t reach any of the buttons as angled to far down.

I actually like them alot (for steering) and detest it when Im in an event that disables it. I have a Jet black victory on the way (@fruit_thief you’ll need to update your pain cave accordingly) - so hope to use the zwift click on the drops for sprint, then use the plays when on the hoods.

Presume you’ve seen they are 50% off at the moment?

I do like mine. They are a bit annoying ot get in the right spot so they don;t impede your grip on the hoods and/or drops. But you really do miss them when you go in to a non steering event. I just use the steering. Don;t bother with the buttons. But then I have a BT keyboard handy for all that, and an iPad on tripod

Yes, hence thinking just getting a clicker for virtual shifting was a waste. But if I can’t find a suitable way to mount them on TT bars then I might have to pass.
