Virtual Zwift Rides

Is the ride leader Alan Couzens?

Finished pimping the Zwift carbon bike tonight, that’s the second fully pimped and I’m halfway through level 2 on the steel frame. I’ll switch to that and hopefully be able to start on the Tron before Christmas.

Also looks like they released an updated version of the Zwift bike today.

Debating going back to Zwift this winter but suspect I’ve missed a lot in the last couple of years. Mostly back for racing, will I be at a disadvantage if I dont have levelled up bikes?

Probably more important to have levelled up legs! :joy:

Yes, but unless you’re aiming for glory it won’t be a massive factor.

Newer bikes and wheels will give you a bump then upgrade them as you get chance, I think the 2 performance ones are first.

Legs for cycling are nowhere. 200w feels like a chore right now.

Paused my Zwift over the summer but just got a notification saying a DD had been taken, guess it’s time to get back on the saddle.

Won’t be pretty.

Is there a link on what to buy Jeff.

I’ve not looked at the new stuff in ages, tbh I just ride around on the buffalo bike.

Got a few million drops though so could probably get a few of the newer bits.

Tbf I’ve been wondering if I should hook the old turbo back up and cobble together a setup, seeing as we’ve been here for over 20 months now!

Not sure I want/need the expense of zwift, so may look into one of those freebie options. Or I’ll get suckered back in! :joy:

Would however need to make some space, find a monitor, work out how to get WiFi out there etc first

I switched to the free options but missing racing and the sharpness a bit of competition adds.

I tried MyWhoosh but didn’t like it. Need the excitement of other cat Cs to fully smashfest against for 26th place, or whatever.

Paging @mw22

I think the Spesh Tarmac is still about the best all rounder, or the S5

The new sl9 is the best all rounder… And is still awaiting a tweak to be lighter.

I’ve not bothered as have sl8 at level 5. Plus Tron is faster on flat.

Princeton (or something) all round wheels (6560) are the go to.

I didn’t realise that the SL9 was available and I’d never heard of the Princeton wheels, so I’ve just been to the Drop Shop for both

They do a climbing wheel too that trumps the Millstein but unless you are going for pb on Alp or virtual Everest, prob not worth it.

This thread lighting up is a depressing sign that summer is definitely coming to an end :frowning:

But on a positive I might be able to turn one of my 3 fans down and not run the air con at full whack.

Has anyone else’s “achievements “ all disappeared from Zwift?

Mine seem to be there.

That’s the iOS app.
