Virtual Zwift Rides

I got the S-Works shoes in recent weeks but I can’t remember why. I’m rocking the 100 mile kit like an IMJer with his wrist band on at Xmas.

Guys, I stream my races on youtube (dazcarter73)

Please feel free to subscribe, watch, shout abuse etc.
Partic Matt, when I draft him all the way to the sprint, then go past

I’m doing the same now, but mainly just to look back through my own races. It’s surprisingly helpful as what you thought happened often isnt!

Yes I do that too, checking out what happened at the end of races to learn from mistakes. Also just nice to keep a record/log. I also started doing it for my folks and a few close friends, so they could watch me race. My folks don’t travel so much anymore so virtual races are perfect haha

Glad to be of service

And sad as I am, I have watched a few of your videos - some serious faces go into those sprints

Managed a Cat C podium this evening, as per yesterday god knows how! Went full on for 5 minutes or so from the start, got the front group and from then on it was a very similar race pattern as it is back in the pack, not really a great deal more power needed. Didn’t have the legs when the front couple went off the front but I’m fine with that

Do you use OBS?

So you’re the one!!!

I did, but I’m on SLOBS (Streamlabs OBS) now. Pretty much the same but a bit more functionality I think.

Thats the one our top club zwifter told me to use. The YouTube integration is a lot lot cleaner.

Yes I also think you can multi stream to YouTube and Facebook at same time, better use of templates, but could be wrong. Set up to live stream is quicker too. You don’t have the faff of checking the stream key all the time and going live via YouTube. Instead a couple of clicks in slobs and it does it all for you.

Yesh, that part is the best bit I’ve found. So easy on Streamlabs to go live. And it just works

A club handicap race up the Alpe this morning. We’d done a variety of targeted timed segments over the last month or two, and then were allocated handicaps off that. We did a private Meetup and then set ourselves off at the base of the climb with those time differences.

I overcooked it early on. I did 261w ave for 51:57 two weeks ago. I really should have nudged it up to say a 270ish target. It doesn’t sound much on paper, but I should know better than starting more like 275-280, and be aware it’ll bite hard later. Which it did. It felt like I ground to a halt.

Ended up 10s slower than my best. Time comparison to that ride as follows:

Our best zwift rider did a big pb going 38:59 :flushed:

I did Royal Pump Room 8 which was my last Yorkshire course, took about 54 minutes, nothing too strenuous.

Got about 12 courses left that should be less than an hour, won’t be doing the really long ones but will try and do some of the ones that should take up to about 90 minutes.

I’ve got a few small ones on Yorkshire and Watopia left. Only 6 Train on NY, thank God, I hate that course!

Then it’s 3 or 4 left in each Bidon group. Out of the big ones, I have Mega Pretzel, Quatch Quest and The Pretzel left.

Lutscher and Lutscher CCW are a PITA as you have to climb the mountain before the course actually starts.

Yes, that NY course is miserable. Got about 6 left on that but one is the Bagel which I’m expecting will take ~70 minutes steady.

I’ve managed 2 of the 4 bidons, might do a couple more but won’t be doing any of those crazy ones.

Apparently if you setup a meetup for the 2 lutchers you spawn at the top avoiding the first climb.

You guys putting a team in for the TTT this week? Greater London Flat, nice flat to undulating one around the city, perfect for TTT

When is it?

That would be the smart thing to do but…
