I thought 11 might be possible but I didn’t dare predict it!
Your dad was brilliant - a man of few words but he had a job to do.
“On your right” - whenever a WW came past I was in awe.
Phenomenal

@sidsnot is the new record holder
Also respect to the guy who did 5 sprint tris on Saturday on a Brompton. I didn’t get his name so I don’t know how many he managed today
Brilliant event
He was still going today too
Fantastic job. Full on crazy!!!
Jonny B going for it, but not even attempting to match the record 11…@SidSnot
Doesn’t TC do this most years as well?
Well that will be fun watching him race away from me ![]()
38 entries left…
You’re entered already?
Surprised it was still available. Cost compared to their single sprint distance tri makes it reasonable. Can’t believe it’s now £150 for a sprint tri!
Did it while back.
It’s a few weeks out from my IM, so hoping it helps with the mental aspect of racing when you’re aching, which I do struggle with
They tried the format at London back in 2018 but it was a disaster as the race distances were all over the place.
I was almost pulled out of the water as they thought I wouldn’t be able to complete before the pros raced.
Then on the Sunday I asked if I could go in the Olympic plus wave to get the kms up, which they allowed, but then didn’t change it on the results.
Definitely learnt to not go off too hard..
I think I paid 50 or 60 quid when I did it in 2008/09 and thought it was expensive but a worth it opportunity.
It is stunning, but the bike is far from fast, its rolling and full of novices so have to be quite careful. The run up to T1 is cool also

@SidSnot - any advice for a first timer?
At the end of each lap, once you’ve gone through the finish line, go left and take the direct line back to the swim start. Going right is longer and you have to go up stairs, fight crowds etc(you may have to convince the volunteers you are a WW and can go left)
Set up a camping chair at the top of the hill at the swim start with drinks, snacks etc. so you can have a short chill if needed.
I also had a portable folding small seat in transition to sit on to get shoes/socks on/off = one of these Portable Folding Seat Stool 3 Leg Tripod Camping Travel Fishing Chair Festival 5017403711506 | eBay UK
Have a good crew mate who can top up your bottles etc. The crew mate spends most of their time going from transition to swim start and back again.
If its warm, get your crew mate to turn your wetsuit inside out and lie it on the concrete in the sun…it’ll dry(ish)
Power walk up the hill from swim exit.
Soak up the adulation from fellow triathletes as you dive in mid wave or join their wave
What about if I have no crew mate.
What logistical issues will this add?
You’ll have to go back in to transition after each triathlon to get your wetsuit, so will need to go right after each triathlon. @Toyota_Crown usually does it on his own
That’s fine.
Don’t think I’m gonna be troubling the record
Might see if I can make some buddies to help
It’s kinda fun having a crew mate. My son did it one year
It would normally be my Mum ![]()
My Dad did it the 2nd year I did it
It’s a great place to hang out, for crew and/or as a competitor, hob knobbing in the palace courtyard, as the whole race unfolds around you, and seeing how your fellow Warriors fare. One of my fave races, and a unique format, in a stunning setting. There’s nothing not to like.
