colwyn bay triathlon 1990 I paid 3 k for an argon e114 then retro fitted di2 to it when electronic shifting was very very rare 4 k total IIRC?.
My e119 rim brake manual shifting is faster than I will ever go at my age now and still a lovely bike Lance lied about everything else in his life, but it really wasn”t all about the bike.
10 k on a bike is alot of money but we are all on a running clock ..
I reckon there’s lots of people who sign up for an Ironman, buy a TT bike because that’s what they think they should be riding for an IM and then sell it at a big loss when they move on to Hyrox or whatever the next fitness challenge is.
They probably don’t have the riding skills to ride the TT bike properly and realise that it’s not a great bike for casual riding or going out with their mates, so they sell it with hardly any use.
You’d have known, when there were only 3 bikes left in your garage…
But know what you mean and would 100% agree if I was buying a bike from taxed income. But the opportunity to buy a new bike (and only a new bike) from pre-tax income has put a different slant on it this time round. Plus I just want something shiny for once in my life, got to be some payback for driving round in an Aygo
Probably right. I’ve just found that cycle exchange take cycle to work vouchers, and there are two Tri bike under £3000 there. So it’s in the realms of possibility. Take the tax off and split over a year…
