This is why I love this forum.
Got it.
Nice one

…heads off to analyse the shit out of it…

Just looked at Zwift power. Trying to catch up resulted in second highest 5 minute power 311W 4.56 W/kg. Don’t feel so bad now for being too cooked to ride back on with funkster. Legs now throbbing gently

I had new 1min, 30s and 15s power records from that final km surge!

Looks like I wasn’t going anywhere near as hard as it felt :see_no_evil:
Morning swim and runs clearly caught up with me
Still .95IF for 49 mins.

On a different subject, Discord was a bit useless this evening IMO… not only did it keep dropping out, we had an issue with Nick and background noise at the start (no idea what caused it) and even when working, the sound quality was poor… I wonder if we might be better off using Zoom next time?.. we can do voice only if people don’t want a video stream running?.. Do people have devices that would work for that besides the one they’re running Zwift on?

Yeah i could either bring the ipad down with me or just have zoom open on the laptop at the same time. It was pretty crap.

I had my discord and zwift running on the laptop last night, and it ran fine, even with the sound BT to my big speaker and all my gadgetry BT to the laptop for zwift.

I could hear everyone on discord in TriTalk1… But they couldn’t hear me.
Was all fine pre race.
Tho Im not sure bluetooth headphones with the mic up by the ear help much.

Aaah Bluetooth headphones have a mic? Embarrassingly I didn’t know that :face_with_hand_over_mouth:. The ones I borrowed from my son were possibly picking up fan noise last night

Zoom would be good, presumably we would be able to see each other suffering like hounds? Aren’t meetings limited to 40 mins or something though

I’ve got a Zoom subscription, so can avoid that issue for the group i’m in!

Haha I was going to suggest we just rode faster

40 mins for a 19.4M TT?.. you’re starting to sound like Funkster! :joy:

how did we (2) do in the end yet? Where are the actual results collated - ZP or that WTRL site?

149 & 342 overall
https://wtrl.racing/ttt/TTT-Results-beta.php

Im not sure how to work out per category without counting and its not phone friendly.

Considering how many issues both teams had, In not sure its a fair representation of what we can do

Yes you need to look at WTRL as that removes the offset time. Zpower gives results as if everyone left when the banner dropped.

All a bit scratchy last night with tech and getting into rhythm; think there will be significant improvements over the next few.

2 things that will make the biggest difference:

  • getting bigger teams, 7/8 riding
  • getting the through and off working well, strong pulls and recovery. In reality everyone should have an under/over power profile.

The quirkiness of the whole thing and working to try and get collectively better is one of the reasons I really like these TTTs.

Ok yeah i’ve found it.

TT1 were 81st out of 141 in Frappe

TT2 were, err, 141st out of 141 in Frappe

Saying that, if @PCP time counted, rather than @NickBerry (due to his tech faults at the start, not riding ability i might add!) then we’d be a few places further up, and not last!!!

Looking at the times though, we (team 2) weren’t a million miles behind the big guns. Ok i know 3.5 mins is a lifetime in TT land. But i don’t think that’s too bad to be fair.

Guess we need to see whether it’s worth putting in three teams, or bulking the two out a bit more in the coming weeks. For many of us i assume family/life will dictate the times that we can ride.

Agree with you though @TROSaracen i really enjoyed my first foray, and is something i’d definitely like to continue through the winter.

But if you look at the times in the screenshot below

I finished in 49:25
Got the file but I’m sure neither Zpower or WTRL care.
If someone here cares enough to send it and chase them, you can. I’m not that bothered.

nope (it would’ve bumped us up a massive 3 places!)

ok (i’m a bit bored this morning) but there are deffo teams that play the system further down the ranks.

You look at the winners of Latte, and they basically just sat on their leader, a ‘B’ apparently, who held 4.3 w/kg the whole race, with everyone else just hanging in. And that’s just one simple example.

I guess we did have Funkster in ours, but we all took turns on the front and we got ‘promoted’ to Frappe for our efforts!

Promoted to last?
What would we have been in our original category?
