I meant more from the perspective of that little lag i.e. your smart turbos will ramp up the resistance as you hit the hill, which i guess would equal a slight drop in power as you change gear or add more power to the pedals or whatever. On the flip side my dumb trainer will keep my power consistent, regardless of the terrain. So in those couple of secs my power would be a bit higher and i’d move away up the hill? I assume it’d be the same on the top of the hill where the dumb power stays the same, but the smart lags a touch.
Simple thing - but maybe be on/near the front as you hit the climb - might negate the lag a bit…
Then as you crest it drop towards the back before you fly off the front.
I don’t know if you are talking rubbish or not
I have a direct-drive trainer but use my Garmin power pedals and go through my gears because Zwift doesn’t recognise my turbo.
So with our pen opening at 7.41… We launch at 7.43… if we can do 267mph average, we can also catch Jeff up… he may however fail to launch, so we might get it easier than that
Aim to be in the pen by 7:35
I’ll stick Zoom details up here tomorrow.
As per last week, i’ll lead out at 3.0 until we’re together, and then ease up to 3.2 for a short while and then ease off while someone else takes over… suggest we think about easing off a bit on the downhills to give group time to regather after the climbs if needed.
Finally, dunno about anyone else, but my Zwift has been a little unstable since the last release. I NEVER get a crash, yet i’ve had two this week already… so this ride could get frustrating!
Easy ride tonight and felt weak as a kitten. Hope the legs are back tomorrow, otherwise I’ll be off the back of Tritalk 1 and looking back nervously for Tritalk 2…
