Zwift Team Time Trial

Will @Jgav be allowed in next week if the scenes go from PG to a 15 rating??
Can he got a note from his mum ??

Hey, no worries

I got a steady hour at tempo. I’ll give it another go in a couple of weeks time.

Not great for me tonight either, probably a good job I didn’t go in the A race as I’d have been out the back after 5 minutes.

Not much in the legs, but like others hung around and better than going back in the house.

We were glad you were there Jeff

Who was it that had the proper grotty pain cave? With the skanky urinal etc.

If they come onto the zoom, we’ll be up at :underage:

Seeing as I went to the hassle of recording it - be better for races I’m sure…

The last 200metres arent pretty - get swamped by other teams!

That’s really cool! I could see that team catching us but I could do absolutely nothing about it.

That felt really good yesterday. Now with a correctly working PM on my trainer, and a couple of zwift sessions under my belt I felt much more like I was earlier this year.

My legs are still fried from last night. :pensive:

AP/NP was the same for 40 mins last night as it was for an 80 min session last Fri.

Not 100%… but TriTalk1 look like we came 4th in Frappe in the 4 teams or less category.

Big lesson tho… 3rd was a little over 1 second ahead and we split badly in that last 200metres. Only as fastest as the last rider over the line.
126/426 - not bad 4 up!!!

Also - we’ve stayed in Frappe, despite having Spooner the Pain Train on board. Thought that booted us to Espresso normally? (Edit - oh we are allowed 2 Cat As in a team of 4… but Cat A+ would see promotion to Espresso).

well done guys!.. great riding.

How are you guys all B’s? You’re light years ahead of me, and i’m a B :man_shrugging:

I’m teetering towards A…

Numbers/categories are only part of the picture tho arent they. What races have you done to get your category, how do they compare to the TTT - different effort types.
Hilly courses vs flat courses can completely change the perspective of 1 rider to the next (pan flat courses I’ve been hanging on the back of the TTT)

I weigh too much

i’ve only done a few, mixed bag. But i think i’m probably just tipping into B from C, and like you say, most of you are probably B about to tip into A.

I think that’s part of my problem too at the moment… after a long layoff over the summer, i’ve been back on the bike regular for 4 weeks or so now, but my power is way way way down on where it was… I’d expect it to take a while, and some focused training to come back, but its gone from TT’ing at 3.4 w/kg to 2.1 w/kg… but then I realised that i’m 10% heavier, so that’s a good chunk of the difference!

Its also noticeable that my 5min power hasn’t shifted that much, but i’m tailing off substantially further and faster at 20mins and beyond, which gives me solace that its a fitness/endurance thing!

(being in my 50’s probably doesn’t help either )

I think I’ve also learned ALOT on the TTTs I’ve done (last night was number 9).
Whilst my overall numbers dont look to different - I’m definitely finding them easier.

Really learning to back off the power when I can, avoid surges as much as possible, dont try and push to the front if you’ve got strong riders doing that role, being in the right place for hills (up or down). Keeping in the pack rather than getting strung on the back.

I’ve gone from bottom of B (in April) to nudging at A and I’m not sure my fitness has changed a great deal. Just learnt the game a bit more (oh and got a Tron bike lol)
