Seems like convenient barriers to entry to me. Making people feel special about their little niche sport that they like. Keeping it from ‘going mainstream’ etc. But that’s just my opinion.

I’m with @gingerbongo on this, the start is just amateurish. Zwift have a very nice format for individual TT start, would be really nice if they got this running for Team Time Trials as well. I really enjoyed the 2 Team Time Trials, but didn’t enjoy the rubish start sequence. Its about racing as a team on bikes, not playing silly bee’s at the start
