2020 Goals

That’s a heavy hit all in one go. That capital should’ve been spread over at least 9 years!

Um, I think the trouser account was at least 5 years in credit. Someone said youve got to have measurable goals, well this one’s measurable both waist and inside leg. And it really works cos 8 pairs actually fit, didn’t try them on in the shop.

Edit actually thinking about it maybe they said youve got to have SMART goals. Not sure can claim that one though.

Anyways, now to nail a park run

So you like Pine then?

Bit of an oak / pine combo going on actually

It’s like having a clincher on the front and a tub on the back

I think I only own 4 pairs of trousers. 2 x jeans and 2 x work chino type ones. I live in shorts all year.

Tentatively waiting for that official result to tick off my first 2020 goal :grimacing::crossed_fingers:t2:

Do you really need to do many of them though?

I’m wondering if, like long runs, there is limited physiological value in them. Just do a couple of long ones in the final 8 weeks.

Well done, great running on that course, that first bit across the field must be worth a few more seconds.

Heart rate is coming down every year. Today actually felt very manageable not out of my comfort zone at all.

I did a 3rd cat crit race about 5-6 years ago where my max heart rate was 212! Can’t get anywhere near that these days.

Me neither…!?

Hi everyone,
My initial goals for the season are:

  • Hartford Triathlon (24 May, Olympic)
  • Windsor Triathlon (14 Jun, Olympic)
  • London Triathlon (9 Aug, Olympic)
  • London Prudential (16 Aug)
  • Woburn Triathlon (5 Sept, Half)

I’m now thinking about adding IM Bolton to the list as I gained some flexibility at work to train very consistently but I think it may be a bit too much. What do you think?

Cheers

T.

nah, be fine…, if you’re reasonably fit, you can be recovered enough from an Oly in 24hrs to be training reasonably hard again, and back to full function in 3 days unless you are intending to push yourself to a really serious level.

Thank you!

I think so as well. I’m quite fit and recover fairly quickly as well.

Will be fun
