Not you specifically FP, it’s come out a few times.
But appreciate your explanation there.

I’m pretty fuzzy headed. And I’m crap with a hangover, generally speaking.
I’m not gonna kid myself and say I’ll be out today!
Well done.
147 bpm, that’s about 6 minute K pace let alone miles
It did get up to 154…
Great running diesel heart.
Good effort that.
Nah, GPS is garbage. ~100m short is fine for today.
I’m still reading “No Trucker Caps” to eat just yet…
Still snow and ice on the footpaths at 9am here, so I did an hour XC moseying into the back gardens of the houses around Alderley Edge
I’m very much in @Poets boat. Thick ice round here (not going anywhere soon).
Still plan on doing something on the treadmill this afternoon, but think my outdoor effort may be weather dependent!
I kinda like a bit of willy waving. Seeing other people achieve things almost always inspires me to try harder.
For example Funkster’s nailed a fast 5km already this morning , thats making me want to man up and brave the elements too. Maybe not for a fast 5km because it’s Icy as hell. But something.
Also I find the size and shape of the willy doesn’t matter so much. When someone posts that they have a 15 minute 5km PB or just Everested then couldn’t straighten up to get out of their car driving home, those are truly impressive things and inspirational. But I also find it inspirational when someone has improved their 5km PB from 29 to 24 minutes, or gone for a run with their 6 year old daughter, or baked a really nice cake
. Or, say, when they finally manage to wait until the gun to start a Zwift TTT
Another thing, and maybe it’s different for other people, is that no-one in my real life would care much if I ran a 5km PB. So I wouldn’t wave it about up and down my street, and I think there’s some sort of law against that anyway. But at least here, it might mean something because we know those things dont come easy, especially when the chassis has a few thousand miles on the clock.
Roundabout way of saying sorry guys, if 17.5x ever happens here, prepare to get waved.
I’m probably sitting this one out today, groin is a lot better but going to give it a few days than risk slipping on ice or running fast. Also concerned it could be a bit of tendinitis so probably better to cut my losses now then build for H2/21 when I’ve got a few more races.
Shame really, was in bed before midnight (until the fireworks started!), didn’t drink so not hungover.
Think this is the first time I haven’t done an NY day race for quite a while, there’s usually a choice of fell run, trail run (that I was entered for) or parkrun.
In my defence, it’s not icy in the slightest around here today.
Save your willies for when it’s dry
90+ seconds away from pb and hurt beyond belief.
600metres in I felt in trouble. Couldve binned it just before halfway.
Matched my first ever parkrun about 8 years ago.
I didn’t expect to be much quicker… But I thought that time would come a bit easier.
Pb for 2021 tho right??
Agree with all of that. I don’t consider that dick swinging at all.
I ride with a guy in Wells, he’s older than me by about 18mths. I can just about hold him off on the straights in a TT effort on my best day but in every other conceivable way, he blows me out of the water.
He’s a great rider and great company. Years ago we were talking about ‘being the best’ one day and how other’s view certain efforts. He lives on a road of about 20 houses and said to me that he can’t even claim he’s the best rider on his street because a fast mountain bike guy up the road.
Turns out it was Rich Payne.
Somebody order @Poet one hat ![]()
Mine is “a grower, not a shower” as I learned from Futurama last night, but it pleases me anyway. 33s PB although I’m not sure I ever ran as low as 23:45.
No surprise I’m back of the pack on this thread but that’s fine by me
1st km I went off too hard checked my pace at 400m was 4:15/km, hands were absolutely freezing by 2nd km and at the halfway I was thinking about calling it a day at 3km. Had to yell excuse me a few times to stay on the path and at pace but around the end of 4km I had to stop for about 6s after pushing the pace to make a gap between walkers, then picked it up again and dodged around some kids and dogs and on to glory!
Got some congrats from one family and another came to check if I was okay sitting on the path!
Well done, hope Poet is hungry
Great pics and well done.
I wasn’t aiming the willy waving at anyone, I always considered it a Tritalk bit of banter like “your all gay” & Markie R’s dead mates.
Anyway I went out for a 5k this morning & ended up with a 19:09.
I’m hacking up lumps & my calves are screaming, I hope your all proud.
Nice one!
Great effort, I was the same psychologically at halfway!
Nice and negative splits too
