2021 New Year’s Day 5K PB

Nice one @Adam, my head was ok but I was definitely touching cloth on my final km :joy:.

It looks like we would have a good race with @JibberJim at the moment.

5kg’s overweight! That’s easily a minute! so a short 17!

No idea how you all get your heart rates so high going solo!

He was supposed to do Kingston Parkrun with me and @wheezy and with him out, it even would’ve been covid legal !

I’m going to give this a go, not NYD obviously and due to life stuff next chance is on Monday.

Well done to all those who went out and gave it a lash, and some searingly quick times that I’m very jealous of.

Guessing long 20, 21:xx would be worrying but either way a boot up the aris to get in sub 20 form again.

I did do a 5km walk this morning, without being injured. #winning

It’d be beating me! :joy:

Great turn out everyone, :+1: the next six days still count I reckon if you want to get one in although Sunday through Monday looks pretty dicey down here.

Oh bollocks we did say that. Should have reminded me.

I always struggle to suffer on solo runs. I can always find an extra gear when someone up the road or breathing down your neck

Not if you want me to be eating more than one hat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I could’ve gone out today and completed the Rapha Festive 500…as I didn’t ride Christmas Eve or Day.

But that’s not the challenge, is it :wink:

Some great running today, particularly those that were up late on the beer last night

Will try and give it a go over the weekend

Well it wouldn’t’ve been very fair to drag you all the way over here hung over, but you went way harder than me according to your HR? In theory I would’ve had a lot of gears with a lion behind me, guess the question is if you’d’ve been enough of a lion!

Nice one team. No way I’d have run today without this thread. :+1:t3:

Yeah, very much the same. It was nice knowing there were some virtual observers that my effort was accountable to. Makes quite a difference

Mine was the slowest 5km effort I have done for a couple of months… ironically my time was 20:21

1m30 slower than I ran on boxing day

In Rincon 2s and a long sleeved top, so hopefully room for improvement. 1:21 slower than my 3yr old post surgery PB. Given I’m 3yrs older and 8kgs heavier, I’ll take it.

Nice work :ok_hand:t2:

Thanks, didn’t bloody tickle. You know that feeling when you’re running local roads and you know exactly how far you’ve gone but you still look at your watch praying it to say something different.

and when you reach a point when you think the mile/km beep should have gone off and hope that you’ve accidentally hit pause, but haven’t :frowning:
