Ive been listening to a few nutrition podcasts and such. Will try fuelling less.
When I posted a while ago about cutting out the lunchtime smoothie and calories, I never ever imagined what an effect this would have! You’d think that as a fairly sensible 57 year old, I should have realised that moving from daily ingestion of turmeric, ginger not to mention the flaxseed etc etc to virtually zero smoothie days would create havoc with the temple. I eat healthy, just not boosted up with anti-inflammatory nutrition.
So it was only the other day when I was moaning (well, more than normal for a grumpy old man!) to t’other arf about my left knee swelling and general knee and shoulder pain when she pointed out the lack of daily smoothie and those ingredients.
D’oh, what a poltroon I am. Back on the smoothies today, report coming up soon

Sitting at just above 80kg at the mo, would like to be in the 70’s but got absolutely no inclination to stop eating shite or drinking beer…
haha - yeah that’s me as well at the mo. But more wine as well.
I’m hovering on 72 (but flex by a couple of kilos during the day). I’m training more over the past 4 weeks, but i think i’m eating more as well. So it’s just a big plateau at the mo. But i’m cool with that, cos i likes eating.

64.9KG so below my target weight and it’s only April. From January 4.6KG/6.6% big thing for me is the snacking and the crap breakfast when I was working in the office as I was partial to a sausage and hashbrown roll or two.

Any feedback now you are back on the smoothies, what are you putting in them, assuming it’s legal
binge weekend = 69.7kg grrrrrrrrr.
Smoothie - usually fresh turmeric, ginger, org carrot, banana, either of kiwi or berries, kale, cashews, hemp/sunflower/pumpkin/sesame seeds, ground flaxseed and water/orange juice combo.
Not sure whether placebo effect but pain and swelling does appear to be slowly going, so much so that managed 2.75 hour road bike Sat incl up to radar station at about 2400ft high, with knee not crying at all during bike, maybe a tad grumbly yesterday. Might also be lack of running rest. Also small outdoor swim Friday, shoulder seems ok so far (shhhhhh).
Will give it another few weeks but may now stick to the smoothies once again
