Hahahaha!
I’ve only scratched the surface on that jar I bought a while back. It’s so sweet

My mouth says yes but my head says no
Sugar
Palm and rapeseed oil
Sugar syrup
wheat flour.
That’s basically all it is, apart from a tiny bit of salt, cinnamon and stuff like sodium bicarbonate.
Also this 400g jar contains 2400 kcal- reckon I could wolf it with a spoon in one sitting- think @jeffb 's 100 mile TT at the weekend only burnt about 50% more calories than that.
I’m going to make her hide it.
Out of sight. Out of mind.
Ours is hidden on the top shelf. Kids can’t see it
Haha, I got told when I was doing some lab testing a few years ago that I generally burnt about 1000 calories for 25 miles. So the 100 should cover it
Unfortunately, at that intensity and the carb loading and what I consumed during the race I’d probably still gain weight

That’s not body fat.
This is body fat.
27%!

As opposed to my lifetime of unbalanced exercise, beer and chocolate/crisps. ![]()
Jokes aside, I do use my scales’ BF% as a general guide.
And take some comfort that I’ve gone down from > 34% at my worst.
So, over 20 pounds of fat lost! ![]()
Keep up the good work you thin

71.3kg - targeting 70kg over the next 2 months for UTMB in order to save dragging another kg of lard around 106 miles and 10,000m of vert
Looking for some body fat scales following diagnosis of high cholesterol- appreciate that cholesterol is not directly related to body fat but I think might help overall
I also appreciate that domestic scales measuring body fat are not massively accurate but I am hoping it will help track trends.
What sort of scales do people have/recommend?
@fruit_thief was recommending some the other day. Think. Someone then bought a set on his recommendation. Can’t remember who.
That’s my approach too, overall trend, rather than 100% accurate.
It was a long time ago, but I think I got my scales from Argos.
This seems to be the nearest equivalent that Argos sell today.

Hope that helps.

Let things slip, got to a solid training weight 71kg early in the year, ready to drop to race weight.
Happily took my eye off the ball…you know the rest…discipline slides, you kind of know and dodge the scales…finally the day of reckoning arrives.
72.6kg. Have adjusted Zwift weight (that will hurt when I race), given myself a talking to and made new resolutions and targets.
71kg by end July, 70.5 end Aug, race weight end Sept 70.0. It will be tracked and reported. Hold me to it folks!
waddles off
Me - I like them but not convinced on accuracy of BF% however they do show trend which is the useful bit
I have exactly those - just tell me my weight, just the job
Statement !!
69.9 this morning, was expecting much higher.
Strange how the body works sometimes.
82.8
Afraid my little experiment without beer came to an abrupt end on Friday evening. Medicinal reasons after a shocker of a week at work. Then some Hoegarden and a Toblerone arrived for fathers day yesterday. Ah well, it was a nice idea & did manage an 8 day streak.
Closing in on 81Kg - so only 11Kg above race weight! It’s going, but it’s going slooow.
92.6 kG this morning. It’s a lot heavier than I’d like to be, and I wonder if I’m having a couple of anomalous days… or if it carries on like this I think I’m going to have to call the GP; the only time I’ve managed to get weight loss like this before I was restricting myself to ~1,200 carlories a day (plus any ‘gained’ by exercise; not a perfect measure as has been discussed, but it’s what I’ve got), and I’ve not been doing that.
I’m not really sure at what point one should be actively concerned over weight loss? I’ve got AMPLE to lose, but to get it to shift in the last ~5 years has taken a lot of effort.
OK. Back up to 97 today. How the heck does my weight swing by 4.5kG over night?! One I can live with, but that much?
Maybe it’s time to get some new scales.
i would say so
