Yeah same - I’m not fussed either way.
If they come up with a date that works then great but if not c’est la vie

No…
People actually think IMUK will happen in July…?!
They are beyond deluded.
I get keeping going… Wales might happen, but as Jorgan said I don’t think we will get any tris in the UK as it stands this year.
Oh, sorry. Jesus!
You’re absolutely right - madmen the lot of them. No way it can happen
Most realise it’s in a bad place, but some are still saying 50/50…!?
Nope. Wales is probably 50/50 at best
I hope so…!
A lot of folk, some on here, have put the graft in this winter… hope they get some results.
Well yeah I’ve logged 120 hours for jan and Feb. Pbs time wise for those months.
55 in March. But what can you do eh?!
For any Tri to happen this year will be a miracle.
Let’s assume the current lockdown works and we start lifting restrictions.
It will have to be done gradually, otherwise everyone will go beserk and infections could explode.
So each restriction lifted will have to be followed by a period long enough to confirm it has not induced an unmanageable spike before the next relaxation.
I wonder where ‘mass participation events requiring substantial medical, Police and other cover’ will be on the list of things to be restarted…
Not only that, they’ll need long enough with pools open before the event to be comfortable holding a swim.
I’ll be happy to get a few Park runs, local runny races and late season time trials in this year.
I know it’s crap, but the World has much bigger problems right now…
After a really encouraging first race it’s all gone pear shaped I guess.
Personally I’ll hit ten hours a week and cap my weight at 77 kgs I’ll just keep fit … I’ve been doing this off and on for longer than some people on here have been alive, and a break from the hours is good sometimes.
I’m looking forward to 2021 already…!
Are they really accepting entries still, despite the BTA saying no sanctioned races until July at the earliest, if so that’s appalling as some people might actually enter!
I’m sure it’s not even on their radar right now
Medical cover is often third party and paid for, e.g. St john’s but equally the local health authority would hopefully have a word with the council about cover for hospitalisation, eg can you ban this please.
Can’t see the plod being keen either.
Elsinore…?!
Swiss…!?
Has been cancelled.
Yes they were still accepting entries as of 1 hour ago.
But I have now just this minute received email confirming Stafford won’t be happening on June 7th.
“Right now, our team is working diligently to secure venues and a new race date. We are committed to provide you with an update on your options by April 30, 2020.”
They must have been reading this thread
Standard messages popping up on Facebook for each countries races as below, Frankfurt etc. has gone,
Apparently they are all committed to give at least 50 days notice.
Bolton still going ahead based on Ironman England’s page, really!
Over the past weeks our teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa have worked tirelessly with authorities, cities, governments and healthcare professionals to assess our schedule of more than 50 events in the region set to take place until the end of 2020.
We are committed to the safety and well-being of everyone in our race community and are following the recommendations of public health agencies and local authorities during the Covid-19 pandemic. At this time, we can confirm that the following events cannot take place as planned:
We are working diligently to secure venues and a new race date. All registered athletes will receive an update on options for the above-mentioned race by April 30, 2020.
In addition, we commit to giving you an update about your remaining races for the season by no later than 50 days before your scheduled race date and will make every effort to ensure these updates come even earlier wherever possible.
Well saying it DID go ahead, if the traffic is anything like the London suburbs they won’t need to close roads and marshall the course…so it could be cheaper
If everyone has a roof over their heads and food to eat in July, then maybe IMUK WILL go ahead.
—Edit—looks like all June event inc staff were posponed
This is why I get really annoyed with IM over the virtual racing site … they need to focus on doing the basics properly before they continue embarassing themselves with this new ‘service’…otherwise it just reinforces the ‘money grabbing’ perception.
Not looked at the IM Virtual racing at all but are they actually charging for it?
Nope.
It’s a positive thing in a depressing time, not an esports racing platform.
