My first ever 5km was under 20 and first 10km was under 40
Also…reckon I might just turn up and do Wilmslow Half Mara off zero run training and see what I can do.
Have a nice Dr Pepper at the end.
What’s the worst that could happen?

Wilmslow half has become a family affair this year.
I will be pootling around with Mrs T having done the Gin Pit marathon the day before
Mrs T’s second half marathon race
Son hasn’t trained so much but is going to try and go sub 1:30
Son’s girlfriend is going for the one and done
What time you aiming for?
Think I could do 1:45??? Maybe 1:35 if I try
I’d be amazed of Wanaka survives much longer. When it was a full iron distance with Challenge it really was the race to do but has just been in decline.
I hope Hooksy is still involved in Taupo?
Haven’t gone sub 1:40 for about 10 years
With a marathon in the legs from the day before, just looking to get Mrs T to a time faster than her 2:15 pb
Sorry
I’d just assumed there - whoops!
Start line is bang on 2km from my front door.
Some club mates are doing it, so it might seem rude not to
I thought you could barely walk on that gammy ankle?
Yeah, there is that.
But it’s generally okay whilst I’m running
Don’t go messing it up and ruining your holiday and Cots just for the sake of an ego stroking race at home bud. Think of the long term here, don’t be tempted into something silly.
No ego stroking - just toying with the idea.
Anyways…where’s @Chriswim
Victor Harbor Tri
17:22 1.5km swim
1:01:45 39km bike
35:24 9.8km run
1:55 ish Olympic at pretty accurate distances
But what were the transitions…
Sub-2 then
He needs to shave his legs, though
And that T1
$400AUD buys a lot of Gillette
Good stalking guys, I hadn’t seen that finish photo yet.
Yep a brilliant day, my best race in Aus/ever (other than maybe IMUK)
T1 was 450m if that justifies it (although I could have better getting wetsuit off and getting socks on compared to the ITU pros) hence my overall placing not that bad in a big field. T2 around 250m.
Most happy with that bike split considering 350m elevation across 40km and 3 dead turns round cones at each end.
Beaten by two people in a different class to me. Winner ran 31:53, second place biked 59:17.
ETA: Did come in 9 minutes ahead of Sarah Crowley though, and 4 minutes ahead of a “full time professional triathlete” who judging by today’s results is better at being an instagram influencer than backing up his words. Or swimming.
$300 for winning the 1km swim the day before, very nice weekend
Will shave for Cairns for you
Top bombing @Chriswim
Professional triathlete!
Well done Chris, ignore poet, shaved legs are wrong!
Congrats. How tall is that 2nd guy
We are all waking up to our coffee and getting ready for exercise, scrolling through Strava…and you pop up!
I mean - that’s a decent enough standalone 10km time (albeit 250m short) but still
bang on fella but there’s your 2nd place there ^^. don’t bother with socks ever for anything less than a middle distance
Yes Chris! Top racing and some cracking scalps there!
