2022 races

Oh. I’m disappointed now :wink:

I saw that swim - bloody good work!
2:38 wasn’t it?

Those two marathons around the lake looked convoluted to say the least!

FFS. 52.4 hard miles! wots a numpT got to do! :sweat_smile:
Yes the run course got redesigned halfway thru my first marafun to avoid potentially waking up too many campers on the crunchy gravel and desiccated leaves.

I only won by 8 hrs :rofl:

No way!
They were impressive :clap:t3::clap:t3::clap:t3:

Just the route looked to be “winding” and a bit confusing to say the least.

I guess when you’re there it’s all properly signed and you can just stumble through in the double IM haze :melting_face:

He came tearing past me on the ‘home straight’ in the outlaw half, I suspect he will take me sooner on Sunday but that’s still me on the podium.

it was indeed tbh. and was somewhat better signed and less confusing after it got revised :thumbsup: , so only this NumpTC got to experience the gnarly old course for a while, which was tricky even in the few laps of light I got to start with.

Got an email earlier saying that they’ve had to change the bike course at Dresden again, I gather it changed recently but some of it was considered dangerous or something and they are scrambling around for permits to get the race on.

So, they’ve basically turned it into a testers dream, barely 4 turns on an out and back 2 lap course, smooth roads and only 100m of climbing in total, was supposed to be 900m.

But, I’m guessing that will undoubtedly mean big packs, depends on the rolling start and how many go at once. Because the pier was so narrow at Texas and they had regular breaks the drafting genuinely didn’t look bad from what I saw. But I’ll need to see.

So, that hopefully means a better chance of sub 5, although I have also noticed that the age groupers don’t start until 7:40, so depending on when I get in we’ll be running in the midday heat again. But I should be a bit more used to it than at Texas and I doubt it will be much warmer as that was at least 25 and possibly warmer on the run.
