For wearing socks in both photos

4kg+ is really going some when you’re already really lean @Doonhamer. How did you manage it?

I’ve been a bit more disciplined about portion sizes for my main evening meal & have knocked snacks on the head in the evening.

The smaller meals have been easy to adapt to, but the snacking has been an ingrained habit - almost addiction - that has been tough to rein in.

I did have my usual end of week Sxollies & crisps last night, there are some things I’m not willing to sacrifice  .

Any tips on that?
I seem to swap one habit for an even worse one. The fact you’ve nailed it over so many months is very impressive.

Think my 2 biggest issues are tiredness… Which just makes me not care what I eat as I hate feeling so drained and the ability to give myself any excuse… particularly rewarding myself for training or preparation for training :person_shrugging:

It’s really only been over the last month, I only put the May picture up as I had already posted it previously so used it as a comparison.

I think my biggest tip is that I really wanted it, I am quite motivated to do the best I can at this hill climb. Once I’d made my mind up I just haven’t looked in the crap/biscuit drawer. After a session I’ll have a banana or a fistful of mixed nuts.

I actually ordered a stash of nuts and shoved some fruit on the shop this week.
I’m thinking losing 2kg will be easier than finding 20w for another Alp attempt.

Well done on the weight loss.
This is the National hill climb? Champs?

How will you do against the Andrew Feathers of this world ?

Is there age group prizes? How far are you off the win?

Good luck!

Cheers, you are quite correct it’s the National Hill Climb, which goes up The Old Shoe next Sunday.

My pb was 8:38 in 2017 & I brought it down to 8:18 a fortnight ago. I have said all along that I want to break 8mins which will be a good challenge from a standing start.

I’ve no idea how I compare against others in my AG as the whole game is very new to me.

Your Feather’s of this world will be comfortably under 6mins which blows my mind.

Faster as you get older is class.

I would imagine you’ll be competitive in your age group but like you have no real idea on what’s good or not?!
How long is it? I’ve been up both of the climbs but it was so long ago I wouldn’t know one from the other now!

I really must go home some time soon, Feather broke the zwift ad indoor record recently on GCN, that includes the pros I think, so you can’t really count him.

Look forward to your results no matter what happens.

Aiming for that delta to Feather, should put him in tight competition against the women, so that’s probably the first target!

What will the fastest lady do?

Crazy painful few mins these things… not for me!

Afraid, it’s been a few years since we were forecasting times (when Maryka would know what she was going to do, and who else would be there doing what), but if Feather can do 6, then I’d’ve expected a high 7 from the fastest woman. If Illi Gardner is doing it though then it might be closer, she is very good.

Illi has already brohen 7mins.

How many pairs of those similar bit different socks do you have?!

I was at 69kg not so long ago and got tired of everyone telling me I looked ill. I can’t imagine another 10kgs below that although at 59kg my BMI would be 18.7 just in the healthy range :astonished:

Same socks for 40yrs is impressive. :facepunch:
