Top blagging @jeffb
Mission accomplished this morning with 3.5 months of training this year. Thank god I can TT enough to save my race going from 29th on the 1st run to 11th off the bike in a seriously stacked field (for Scotland). Finished 13th overall, 2nd in 40-49 mass cat and 1st 45-49 AG for the title.
Yes mate, quality stuff!!
Fantastic!!
Well done Jeff and Leahn
Think that’s probably me done now for the year excluding a couple of trail races I entered last year and maybe the odd fell race.
I had fancied doing another 70.3 later in October with a couple of options like France, Greece & Portugal but I think my body needs a bit of a break. I’m feeling the signs of a return of the stomach problem that has dogged me a couple of times in recent years and I’ve got a couple of long trail runs in March\May.
My bank account could also do with a break as well I think, and Greta would probably start sending me threatening messages
Coming soon to a continent nowhere near to you; Jeffrey; the racing and travelling machine
Jeff is becoming TC MK2
anyone do any of the Hever Castle events at the weekend?? looks like another case of dodgy water. @Hammerer knows all about this issue as it’s happened before.
Not again, heavy rain last week, would have washed the shit from the fields, no doubt
The Paul Whitehouse docu on H2O on the BBC was good last night
They spoke about sewage in The Lakes.
Guy who was talking to Paul seemed like he knew his onions
(So their dramas are whack, but the docus are good)
The water quality has always been borderline there but as you say, heavy rain wouldn’t have helped.
Everytime there has been a major issue is after rain. Someone mentioned about fields upstream and basically cow poo gets washed into the river that feeds the lake. Not sure how true that is.
Could well be the case. Lots of rivers do suffer with higher pollution levels for the same reason. So it the river does feed the lake, then it does sound plausible.
