Does anyone know anything about this event? There are no contact details on the page, and British triathlon have no information about it either.

The event looks amazing, if it’s actually real.

Happening across the board, certainly for smaller races in the tri and ultra world. People are entering later and later, making it really hard for organisers.

My mate has almost had to pull 2 races as numbers were so low. But then in the 2-3 weeks before, the entries climbed all of a sudden.

People are much more cautious now, especially with no refund policies etc having to be invoked by event companies.

How was NC110/110/50 for Justin, went off ok?

Yeah, all good in the end. Great weather! And numbers slightly higher than last year in the end, but it got close.

Wow, I hadn’t realised. I was a bit gutted to miss it this year but figured ACC was more useful as a recce. That went well! :man_facepalming:

I love that NC110km race, even though it’s done me over twice. I really want to get to Minehead next year, so I hope it goes ahead. I wonder if it’s the 110 milers making it not viable, there can’t be many of those but would put a big dent in his budget.

I know of 4 tri organisers in the SEast with long established series of races who have now packed in organising events (one is continuing run races but not tris). Reasons as increasing costs and dwindling entries mainly.

I did a race on Dec 27th last year, local to me in the Meon Valley area. It’s a 50km with a village hall as HQ and 4 ‘out and backs’ with an aid station at the turnaround of each.

It’s a great little race but last year we were warned it might not be viable for 2023. I checked the website last week and it says ‘no further races planned’ :slightly_frowning_face:

Tri X series don’t appear to be running next year, not sure why Mark has stopped, could be the hassle and stress.

My friend was looking at it, I’d have thought they’d want entries open soon before people enter other races. Maybe getting final land permission or something.

BTF site will only show events once the organiser has submitted it’s permit request to them - assuming they are applying for a permit! Next years events often don’t show up until that year anyway.

Any idea who is organising this event? Just wary about handing over any payment details when there appears to be no contact information at all. Payment appears to be via PayPal only, so no credit card protection.

I wouldn’t be paying for an event via PayPal personally. I save that for reputable retailers and eBay purchases myself…

Hope they sort out the details as I might also be interested in the event.

2024 is likely to be over before I stop procrastinating and actually enter some more races

Now thinking of transferring Valencia 70.3 to something else in Summer as I’m not sure I’ll get out on my bike much by late April.

Pretty committed though to do Westfriesland 70.3 in June and then the week after the Graveline 70.3 that doon mentioned for this year, that’s only about 100 euros, and I’d have a holiday in Northern France\Holland for the week. Driveable as well but would possibly get the ferry.

Also very keen on the 70.3 near Athens that was on a couple of days ago, looks nice for some late season sun and I haven’t been to Athens yet, supposed to be flights direct from Newcastle as well.

Then it’s just a question of a few from, ADH Long, Duisburg, or St Polten and a trail race the weekend after.

That should keep me going if I can get round to entering :joy:

(can we hide this in Blackpool away from Greta :grimacing:)
