Love that “stem” sticker :white_check_mark:

It was a lovely warm day with a light wind and the thunderstorms and rain only showed up at 6pm by the time we were in the pub in Grasmere :trophy:

Splits for ROC Wales - just look at @Doonhamer 's final position and his amazing run splits. Well done that man. After showing him a picture of my portion of double chips and a pint of real ale afterwards, and him showing me his plateful teas and bottle(s?) of beer, we realised why we may never be in the top 3 :joy:

Perfect trisuit conditions for me, I love the sunshine and heat  after treading in a huge load of sheep shit and then getting it on my hand, I also seemed to rip my nail up the side and cut my thumb at T2, cue blood and needing a plaster and hence having to give me name and DOB and email (groan) to the first aiders and thus a rather slack transition. Having said that, most of my day went rather slack. A jolly nice tri tho, and great touch having names on numbers “c’mon blah blah, give it some” etc. Very well organised and plenty of marshalls and quite a few stop/go signs for us to have priority over the motorists…it’s an outrage heh heh.

Some of you know I’m already out of the solo point five in June. This year is not going well (at all) and the chances of being fit for August is increasingly slim so this morning I deferred Copenhagen to 2025.

This year was always going to be a bit optimistic but you have to at least try. It’s happened many times before and I’ve no doubt will happen again but for now it’s time to focus on recovery and try again next year :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking at events for this year (I know, right!)

Loads have been cancelled.
Or just vanished.
The remaining ones have an obscene cost attached to them …

… and then there’s the BTF day license fee :triumph:

Unusually there’s still spots available for the Cleveland Steelman (half IM).
No frills event in a great location on 20th July. Fast and reasonably quiet bike course with a very civilised 10.00am start time. £65 - unbelievable value.
I’ll be there @jeffb too perhaps? It’s his neck of the woods.

Yeah, I’ve entered, hopefully I’ll make it this year after injury and weather last year. They had to cancel the bike leg.

Short transitions, but some of the bike course has had stone chip in recent weeks so that will slow you down.

I’m up there there the week before.
CBA driving back

And it’s not the proper one. That used to be in Ruswarp and went up Blue Bank

I was going to enter but in awful shape and going on holiday the next day and would cause aggro at home doing this.

Next year :crossed_fingers:t3:

How close is this one to you? CLOSED: The 2024 St. Annes Triathlon | BookitZone | Online Event Entry Service

It’s this Sunday and entries have closed but maybe you can sneak in via a polite email! No idea how much though.

It’s Southport Tri this weekend, too. Which is literally 5 minutes down the road from that one!
But I’m not available this weekend.
Plus it’s May. Far too cold :triumph::rofl::cold_face:

If this was a week later I could manage it as I’ll be up that way seeing family but will be on a beach in Spain on the 20th and don’t think I can swing a change of plans. Or want to!

Has been on my to-do list since starting Tri and still not managed it. Also next year :crossed_fingers:

Entered the local standard distance race on 8th June, low key race to get used to things like transitions!

Just driven up to Holme Pierrepont for the Outlaw sprint. Left at 3:30, glorious sun on the way up but now in a right pea souper.

Also just spotted that my rear tyre is flat… (that I put a new tyre/tube on last night )

ETA, I think it was just a loose valve core, tightened it and will check.
