I like the look of the Snowdonia events but I would just get lost and loose interest really quick.
The massive bottlenecks would put me off I think.
Just entered Erkner 70.3 for next September. With all of the fees just shy of 300quid!!!
I see that Outlaw are offering g a long course aquathon option (swim/bike). Could be quite interested in that as it’s something I could train for and reasonably expect to get to the start line and finish.
Also a good training option for people doing an IM to get a long swim\bike in race gear without the risk of injury from running. Granted it’s an expensive training session.
£300. Oofff!! Will think about it. Pretty certain it won’t sell out for a while.
300?!
How much is it with a run?
£350 + £24:50 for something else (booking fee?)
Do you know if that’s the early bird entry fee?
I can’t find a date when that ends …
Basically you get free deferral if you enter early.
And with my current swim/run fitness, I might need it
Not sure Poet, sorry. Didn’t look too deeply into it.
looking at the new valencia 70.3 , can not seem to see any of the budget airlines who fly in direct
I’ve been suckered into Valencia I had wanted to race this month but the body needs rest, this will give me a bit of training impetus. Not sure I’ll manage sub 5 as the bike looks lumpy but something to look forward to.
I think I’m probably going to bail on the local 55 and see if I can sell it on, 2 ultras in 8 weeks was never going to end well and I think the Snowdonia one is my preference as I doubt there’ll be any deferral options.
really fancied it but don,t fancy the flight then a 100 mile each way car journey from alacanti ,shame as misses was up for it
I might just go to Valencia via Amsterdam, will sort it soon though before it goes up.
would be interested to see u plan as looks a good race & time of year
I look forward to reading about those journeys
It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.
Jeffrey will end up in Azerbaijan (it begins with A, like Amsterdam)
He’ll then take the train back to Valencia, but get stuck in Vlore, where he’ll do his own AlbaniaMan.
That’s ok, still have Azerbaijan on my to go to list maybe Armenia and Georgia before heading to Valencia
If anyone is interested the Cleveland Steelman (70.3) is on 20th July next year, entries open next month.
Cheep, cheerful and fairly quick, but the run is largely track\trail.
