How’s the bike

Hope it’s nothing bad but that still a decent shift :+1:

Bent the derailleur and the little metal thing in the gear shifter isn’t flicking back on upshifts.

But I can brute force them.

Thanks. I’m annoyed as I was going well :sob:
For once. Just got cocky on a downhill.
What did I say elsewhere?

Bad luck :frowning:.

Bike ok?

Sorry to hear that mate, hope you heal up soon. :crossed_fingers:

Deadly Dozen for me today, which overall was a great experience.

First event other than parkrun for 18 months, and good to have some competitive spirit. Tough workout and I’m very sore now, praying it’s not too bad tomorrow and Monday to still be functional!

Did the 400m runs around 4:15-4:30 pace which felt very measured on a track, was concerned running properly fast would be too detrimental on the stations as can lose a lot of time there resting.

10th overall, could have been 7/8th if I hadn’t done the first run at 7min pace with a friend. Everyone who beat me gained at least as much time on the runs as they did on the stations, other than push press that I lost 30-90s on everyone ahead, so think in hindsight I was probably too cautious on the runs.

What was your total time?
Are your splits on that sheet ? I can’t see it?
Or just the work required?

Well done … it’s tough for sure
How many in the race ?

Arh well done @Chriswim. I did think about you earlier when I saw all the DD social media about Middlesbrough.

I’d definitely be interested in picking up some tips for my race in a couple of months.

Just looks like a beating for the shoulders and quads.

1st 2 finishers were on MTB bikes.

Just seen the online results has added another 2 minutes onto my first run from what it said at the event. So my first piece of advice would be don’t wander over the starting mat early

Not for the gravel route.

A UK NeoPro did 7:47 at 274W average on his Trek ProjectOne something. Skinsuit, aero helmet and camel pack. He has been Top 10 dirty reiver, Lincoln GP, Otley RR etc etc.

Second place also gravel bike. about 2 hrs behind first.

There were three routes;

200km Peak Gravel (gravel bike)
160km Millstone (MTB)
250km Divide (probably an MTB, but gravel would be doable)

The route I did was deffo gravel bike.
But 40-45mm tyres would’ve been nice for some parts.
Although the 16km on High Peak Trail was glorious gravel, shame it was so busy with people enjoying the sun :joy::see_no_evil_monkey:
A lot of “forgotten” roads, too - you know, the ones with the grass in the middle and are broken up. The type RideWithGPS sends you up on a road bike (Ballidon Quarry Road, I’m looking at you here :face_with_symbols_on_mouth::see_no_evil_monkey:)

Great consistency.

I’m dreading the push press and goblet squats. I’ll be happy get below 5 minutes for each exercise!

Ah ok, my mate was on the Divide & first gravel bike back in 3rd, 18 hrs on his Strava.

Local 10k for me this morning. I think it’s the 15th time I’ve done it.

Current plan is to go off with the 45 min pacer (as he’s a good chap) and maybe push on from half way.

I did 21:15 at parkrun yesterday so should be well within myself.

Yeah - the whole Divide route looked NAILS.
That first northern loop is pure MTB, Cut Gate etc.
but the southern loop is Gravel … Bamford bike change :joy::face_with_peeking_eye:

Some stonking times there
Bbj/ lunges in particular

% wise you seem to spend more time on the stations than hyrox, as a good runner you’d probably be better at the longer event ?

I’ll bet those legs are a touch stiff this morning !!

From the time I posted this to the start of the race my plan changed a hundred times.

I was a bit close to the front at the start and went off pretty quick, ran through 5k in 21:10 I think and then was able to negative split (go me!) and finish in 41:57 (correction: 41:48 is chip time)

Even came 10th in the 50-59 age group.

I’m most happy with that. Conditions were perfect and the crowds busy. And you get a voucher at the end for a bottle of Heineken at a pub close to the finish. It was lovely.
