FYI: On the 10th anniversary of the event, they were daft enuf to offer a 1-off full ironman distance option at Scorton. So they called it (confusingly!) “Double Steelman” 
. When I’ve begged for them to repeat this, it was a firm ‘No Never Again’, as it apparently was such a b@ll ache to organise / get marshals all day etc.

Also instead of a second middle + the iron at Roadford Lake, Sportiva Events are bringing back Wimbleball instead, as both a half & the Full iron. .

I never did the MDot 70.3 at Wimbleball , but for 2016 only there was an independent Half and a Full, X-Man, (later XXX-Man after Marvel threatened to sue them 
) . Hilly Bike route included Porlock, it was fab. Sadly these new organisers stopped doing events entirely after the first year.
(So I’ll probably never do a full Iron at Roadford as last year’s Sportiva was likely a one-off, and it clashed with GeordieMan.)

I’m going to have my first bash at Kielder Iron aka The Northumbrian. It was a choice of that or IM France in Nice. Hmm, 
choices, choices: The hypothermia inducing waters of Kielder after camping in a midge infested tent, or the stunning French Riviera?

A New Challenge Awaits — Introducing the Outlaw Middle
We’re excited to announce a brand-new event for 2026, the Outlaw Middle, joining the Outlaw Original weekend at Holme Pierrepont Country Park, Nottingham, on Sunday 26 July 2026.
The Outlaw Middle is the UK’s newest middle-distance triathlon, offering a flat and fast course through the heart of Nottingham, alongside the incredible atmosphere of our full-distance event. It’s an incredible opportunity to experience the iconic orange carpet and crowd support that make Outlaw so special.
Open to athletes of all abilities, the Outlaw Middle features extended cut-off times, making it ideal for both first-time triathletes and those chasing a personal best. Entries will be very limited for the first year due to the nature of the event, so early entry is strongly advised

Yeah, Ironman do it on quite a few races like Portugal, Italy, Nice and others so makes sense.
