2026 Races

The mandatory kit list is quite comical as well for the 40km and 20km.

A base plate compass?! Most people will have no idea what to do with one anyway! Plus it’s no good without a paper map  But for a 20km. It’s not exactly up the Matterhorn, it’s on a well marked coast path!! (i know it’s just the blanket rules for all UTMB associated stuff, but still!!)

I honestly think that this year’s race was the last one with any semblance of ‘old Arc’. I know I only went once but I’ve kept a close eye on the changes (but not prices!) and they just seem to be extracting soul of the race via people’s wallets.

Not quite as scenic, that one! The roads of Taunton.

I’m finding that a good way to run away from Taunton is to head north, once you get to Kingston St Mary it’s really nice (but hilly)

It wasn’t that bad. Just urban. I was out of the town pretty quickly from memory, and then it was a really nice run back.

epic run that one must have been :+1:

Thanks, that’s useful and I’ll probably look elsewhere :+1:

Hmm, one of those days, the Tenerife trail race is full for all distances as well. Probably others but fancy a bit of spring warm weather.

Very very different vibe, but Anglezarke Amble in Lancashire is a friendly event, 14th Feb by the LDWA. ~£10 with 3-4 stations with hot and cold food/drinks, and a decent course

Come down in April and do Devon Coast to Coast (or part of). I’m pretty sure this is going to be my target for next year (oops, cat out of that bag now :grimacing: )

I’d say you might need to do some training for that, but it’s you so probably won’t bother and still get a podium :joy:

Just been sent a priority link for Tenby ( I believe you could have signed up for 26 at the expo)

£617 - bloody hell!

Final tier price will be truly eye watering

Yeah, got the same with a few others like Italy and the new 70.3 in Italy.

Wonder if Challenge get more entries at their races.

Not worth that

Boston cutoff was pretty generous for 2026, think that’s around 3:25 for me.

Ok, payday so I’ve entered ADH long and the duathlon next year :grimacing: only £200 for the long, that’s not bad, don’t think the roads are closed but last time I was there the French motorists were a lot more tolerant to cyclists than the cretins here.
