Bike Candy (or not!)

You mean they don’t have a 1.8k post thread about Nike flappy daps?!

Did they not pick up on Superleague - that was some great stuff to watch unlike the normal pro LD racing they seem to love over there.

Is that a triathlon bike?
That’ll have a top speed of 5kmh as it is.
It’ll hit that coming out of T1, when being pushed.

It’ll then move at ZERO kmh pretty quickly.

AS THERE IS NO DUCKING CHAIN

I just had a quick look as hadn’t noticed anything about it.
There is a thread that made all of 26 posts, half as many as someone asking whether you should run in a a bike lane!

Chat here is a million times better than ST. I get the feeling that ST is slowly decaying into irrelevance. Web site is awful and clunky, posts are tired, community is sad, with occasional perceived insults and mild threats of violence.

do you think geography and social economics has an impact there i.e. it’s mainlu US based, huge country, huge population. Whereas here it’s a much smaller pool, evidenced by the few races that have happened in the last year where a good bunch of TTers attended and met up IRL.

I think ST is a reflection of it’s owner; it’s focused around the business of Triathlon/multisport and is a little too inward looking. I mean, there’s a global pandemic ripping the developed world a new economic arsehole, and Dan Empfield is still doing in-depth pieces on unimportant stuff like tubeless tyres :man_shrugging:

ST is slowly disappearing further up it’s own (advertorial) back passage.

He’s a twat.
Since we called him out on the lack of “advertorial” signage on his articles and he replied with (and the only reply an absolute cockwomble like he could) “it’s my website, I can do what I like”

I’ve stopped reading it.

these bars, best of both worlds http://www.morf-tech.com/

I’d be scared to death that when you are on the ‘base bar’ climbing it would spring out to a TT bar and you’ll be face-down

I’m sure I’ve seen a pro triathlete on them before. I guess for LD tri where it’s very flat it may be enough of an aero benefit.

I first see them in Wales in 2017. Anthony Costa uses them.

Double sided locking mechanism and both need releasing to move bars so sound pretty safe. Think they are about 1000USD though so for that reason, I’m out.

Wasn’t the guy who designed them killed in a collision with a bus or something like that. Never saw any more detail come out but wouldn’t be good if the bars were a factor.

I’m throwing this in here coz it’s bike candy to me.
Race ready for tomorrow. I’ve taken the front hydration bucket off (it is that big) and I think it looks miles better. Allegedly a bit more aero with it on but then you have the flappy straw that I’m craning my neck for at speed and it probably negates it.
Will only reach for frame bottle 3 times.
