My next bike
Ribble ultra tri will come off eBay
The mark up on new bikes is crazy
And that’s from someone who owns a bike shop
Which I spend money in every time I go there … which is lots …
My 4.5 all came off eBay …!?

They’re £55 off eBay and precut to fit your wheels.
I keep meaning to order one, but I need to take off the rear wheel and cassette and measure the flanges and all that jizz.

Guy who sells them is a rapid time trialler

5:50 Outlaw split in 2017, although confident 6:15 Bolton this year would convert to at least a 5:30 Outlaw as I’m a lot stronger now so your point stands.

Thanks for very good food for thought. No idea what I’m looking for to know what is good value second hand so might be a long and patient winter but will start investing.

The charity bike shop in Prestbury (near Alderley Edge) currently has (or had) a 56cm Cervelo P3 in stock for 750 - that’s a beast of a bike.

It’s the CSC edition, with Campy Record, Zipp Sub9 disc, Zipp bars and a 50mm front with a 50mm rear wheel.laced to a Powertap hub.

Details on their facebook

To reiterate what others have said, when I’ve popped onto eBay to have a look, there seems to be quite a lot of pretty new tt bikes for sale that I presume have been bought by the ‘one and done’ brigade.

Yeah, there are plenty of good quality pre-made disc covers out there; I think wheelbuilder used to be one of the preeminent providers. I think Aero Coach used to do one, but now just do the (internal) spoked disc wheels.

If you can get even an old model Cervelo P2 with a good spec it will be a fast bike set-up well. Tririg brakes, good aerobars etc.

Now this is a good buy. Not convinced it’s a Large though, as the draft box sits level with the top tube, which indicates Medium.

my TT bike (Giant TCR) was off ebay too, the only new bits were chain and base bars.

I bought a used 2010 P2 for £700. It came with planet-x wheels and powertap hub which I sold for £700 :triumph:
